I must be about 4 hours in. The game is indeed a bit like zelda in wich you traverse an overworld where you can explore and look for secret areas. Among those you will find extra unique dungeons aside the ones the main story sends you to. They are usually related to side quests.
The dungeons themselves are just like zelda in wich they require you to solve minor puzzles to advance.
Describing it as an adult zelda is quite accurate, except it flows more swiftly and fuses that with darksiders action combat and manuverability, indeed ala pop. Whats also different is the item system that is very deep.
Its been very enjoyable, and with the leveling system, npc conversations and the item custumization i would say that the series went from action game to action RPG. I'm pleasently surprised, wich makes me sadder that vigil was closed down.
I wish I just played one game at a time. Maybe I'd finish them. Currently playing through Infamous Second Son.

Dark Souls (Waiting for 2 on PC)
Final Fantasy X-2 HD
Dragon Age
Playing through God of War II, Metroid Fusion and often random 3DS games too. Next I'll play is God of War III, MGS Peace Walker and Metal Gear Rising.
I'm also midways through Majora's Mask, Other M, and The Legend of Zelda (NES). Gotta finish those as well.
Yep.

I'm sorry for joining the mix without being asked, but I just have to talk about Darksiders II. The game was freaking awesome! It was the best game I had played in 2013. The gameplay is fluid, targeting works great and also the fighting is a lot of fun. The world is huge, rendered in a nice art style. A ton of sidequests will also keep you busy for quite some time. There are only 2 downsides really. First, the graphics are not quite up to par with todays standards, so if you're looking for the most cinematic, realistic experience, you might not get it here. (the game is still very pleasant to look at) Secondly, you might run into a few bugs here and there. Most critical errors have been patched out, but the game might still crash on you on occasions. I also found it fairly easy to get stuck in a wall, but it's not horribly bad. Well, I hope I was able to convince you. |
Yeah definitely. I don't mind if the graphics aren't up to par :P From the screenshots I've seen it looks pretty good.
Thanks for the input, I will definitely pick this up by the end of the year.

New Super Mario U
3DS/DS: Bravely Default, Pokemon Heartgold, Pokemon Y, Weapon Shop de Omasse, Dillon's Rolling Western, Warioland 2, Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate (multiplayer)
On deck - Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones (replay), Zenonia, Fire Emblem: Awakening (replay), Shin Megami Tensei IV (replay)
Wii/U: Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate (single player), Windwaker HD, NES Remix, Megaman X2, Megaman 4, Trine 2, Sonic Lost World, Xenoblade Chronicles
PS3: Demon's Souls, Red Dead Redemption, Assassin's Creed 3

If it isn't obvious, most of my time is going into my 3DS right now. I've beaten a lot of the games on the list, but I keep them on until I decide I'm done playing for the immediate future. Once I finish Bravely Default, I'll probably work on my console backlog a bit more, but we'll see...
