He managed to break his way into his father's Live account. He could've done the same with other accounts. Anyway, it has been fixed now thanks to this little genius |
Yeah but that seems a local thing. Not a hacking of Xbox Live.
I would take a step back before calling this kid a genius.
So let me get this straight.
To hack a phone he held the home button for a long time.
To hack into account password he just pushed space button a bunch of times.
More pathetic that those actually worked.

Hacking simply mean someone acquires access to something through unauthorized methods. In that respect, this is hacking :p
It can also simply mean gaining access to data you aren't supposed too, which this also falls under i suppose.

Oh I'm not doubting that he "hacked" something. Hell people use hacked for accessing a facebook account left open on a phone.
I'm just saying this isn't a hacking of Xbox Live. Just a local account.

I agree the title is a tad too vague. "Xbox Live account hacked by 5 year old" or "Xbox Live exploit found by 5 year old" would have been clearer.
Why are people debating the title? The kid got past xbox live security into his dads account! That is hacking, who cares how he did it. He could have bought games or done whatever with his dads credit card at that point.
Also, that is a crazy bad overlook by microsoft... Maybe i need to take my credit card info off my game systems...

Live account. "Xbox Live hacked" is ambiguous, but it is ambiguous |
That's what I'm saying. The title could have easily been "Xbox Live Account hacked by a 5 year old" but I guess that wouldn't get as many clicks.

THIS is the situation that has you contemplating that? lol should have been done about 3 years ago.
