I think if it blinks blue its the blue light of death from what I remember during launch.

humm, thats weird, I was reading about this problem and some people tried to boot it up removing the hdmi cable then replacing it while its booted and it worked but for some strange reason it boot up in safe mode so I'm currently updating the software and see if that works.......

Well did the update, all was good, it restarted in the process like 3 times, played 5 minutes of infamous then decided to shut it down again so went to the menu and I shut it down. Tried rebooting it, not working anymore, tried removing the hdmi cable and reboot, not working so its going back to BB tomorrow :)

Did you try blowing into the cartridge bluray or hitting the console on the side? :P

However, it sounds like a pretty big problem. As others have said warranty should cover it so there's not too much of a worry. Happened with my 3DS shortly after launch. It's annoying but they tend to be pretty good about these things if it's under warranty

Thats some scary stuff. I remember when i bought my ps4 at launch. I got home, plugged it in and I was playing on it. At around 3am, I notice a thick red line going from the top of the screen, right down to the bottom. and I couldnt get rid of it. I tried everything from changing HDMI cables, switching the PS4 on and off, changing HDMI ports on the TV and eventually gave up. I felt like crying and was so pissed off that I half heartedly threw the TV remote against the wall. At this point the TV channel changed on to Cable and I noticed the red line was still there. Yes, my TV is dying, but my PS4 is okay! I was so happy, I ran upstairs, woke my wife up at 3:30am by shaking her and flashing my mobile flashlight in her face (she thought the house was on fire and panckicked), and shared the good news with her. Although she wasnt amused, nor did she share my happiness, I was happy and that is all that mattered.

To the moderators, can something be done about that the stupidly huge ass advertisement popping up every time i open a window on here? I mean, it is taking up my entire screen! No advert should be that big and I know i can just scroll up and click the large X on the top right, but I should'nt need to do it opening a new thread or page every time I browse a section of the site.

My PS4 had a similar problem, reported it to Sony and they sent me a replacement within the week.

Well thanks to Sony price increased the BB here has loads of PS4 in stock so I was able to exchange it today, now I have to set it up all over again.
