Digital games should cost no more than £25 or £30 (similar to PC) at first. Physical copies should be no higher than £40. While £50 to £60 a game (for download or disc) is just a joke. EA is especially notorious for this.

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030
Prices are this high digitally because companies want to compensate for the people that "gameshare", I think.
But yeah I agree digital is expensive.
Big regret buying Tomb Raider DE for PS4 at 60 bucks. It's only 30 now. :(

He shouldn't just be talking to Sony or Microsoft but to all the publishers as well. They can set their own prices.
... is that a Pebbles doll?
What the hell was that at the end? Turned really annoying really fast.

I think he is talking about them because you have to go through XBL or PSN to buy a game Digitally, though I do Understand where you are coming from as the publishers need to own up to the fact thier games sell price such as EA and Activision.
He waves around a copy of DKC:TF but doesn't mention Nintendo...just seems a bit strange to me
Anyways, yeah, of course digital copies should be discounted...I think game companies are just holding out because they can. Why sell something for 50$ when you can sell it for 60$?
Agreed. On PSN, 3rd party games are more expensive than physical. BF4 and Ghosts as an example were €70 at launch, physical is €60. How about we make digital €50?
On mobile so I have yet to watch, but...
Vita says hello. Every first party game and some third party games were 10% cheaper if you bought digital. Nobody seems to care or remember. Sony tried this and it failed.
Also, people shouldn't feel entitled to saving money just because publishers save money. People think it's the "fair" thing to do. It's not. Take psn cards for example. I can't disclose how much of that money goes to stores, but it's significant. When you buy a digital game using store bought cards, the "fair" thing would be to charge you more. No one wants that of course, cause in this instance the "fair" thing is a negative for them. It's all kinda silly imo.
Definitely. All through last gen a game cost more on PSN at launch than it did on disc, and the prices never really went down either (occasional PS+ sales aside).
If other online marketplaces behaved like Steam, they'd get Steam levels of sales too.
They simply need to have the same price or more because they can't afford to piss off their retail overlords.
Prices would change if you could only get digital games via retail but that would just defeat the purpose.
