Forums - Gaming - surprised metal gear solid V:ground zeroes sold what it did.

Let's complain about the 40M sold by Mario Bros onNES or WiiSport on Wii? They can be beat in less than 20min.

Yeah, I think it is a step in the wrong direction. I mean it's just like cutting a game in different pieces and then sell every part to make more money. Now you can say: "But it is cheaper!" Yes, but I think nodody would have been wondering if the game has been one and a half hour longer.

I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?

I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.

Weren't Mario Bros bundled with the NES and Wii Sports bundled with the Wii?

This comparison isn't valid, since Ground Zeroes isn't bundled except for an special Ps4 version in Japan.

I'm actually surprised that this game isn't Sony exclusive anymore. It sold over 650k retail only on PS consoles (2/3 PS4) and on Xbox systems just over 100k. All the effort and investment in Sony systems and you get a better game which will probably sell even more on PS systems

Expect to see more of this in the future. Thats a fuckton of money from a simple prologue. Probably over 900k Week 1 when you add in any digital sales.

I just hope that due to this game selling well other games don't follow suit and release a 30$ demo

790k with all versions included, so basically 800k.

Pretty crazy stuff. In fact, it's probably pretty close to a million already with digital given the digital version is $10 cheaper.

Really amazed they were able to pull this off, makes you wonder how much it could seriously do lifetime since I know a lot of us are waiting for the $15 or under price point.

Makes you wonder how many people brought this thinking it was a full game

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

I'm very impressed as well, still refused to buy the game until it gets cheaper or maybe rent it on Red box.

This comparison isn't valid, since Ground Zeroes isn't bundled except for an special Ps4 version in Japan. Not all NES had a Mario Bros, and Wii Sports I'm sure wasn't bundled in japan. The point is that a lot of games can be rushed to a under 30min completion. CoD is famous for its 4h campaign.

But we can find several games for 60,00 along the 30y of vg that sold well and didn't made it a trend to release short games for full price

Gt5p sold 5M and altough complete and long it's a short demo for Gt5 and we didn't saw Gt6p, but will possibly see Gt7p so No need to worry yet. But it sure would be nice to have the game length in the box.

For me all the milking, nicking and diming could die. But if consumer keep throwing their money like fools what we complain about makes no difference.
