Maybe Nintendo would say something to if they actually paid attention to what the competiton was doing instead of:

“It’s all about the games. The competitive systems have announced their launch lineups. I’m allowed to say ‘Meh,’” Fils-Aime said.

I'm pretty sure the verdict, 5 months later, is that Reggie was right. The PS4 and XBO launch lineups were exceedingly "meh."

That is for the consumers to decide not Reggie, furthermore, this about Nintendo not playing Sony or MS's "childish games"

If saying that they have no always on drm and no region lock is a petty insult then what do you call directly insulting the launch librarys of PS4 and MS? Sounds like something a company that has been in the industry for the longest time shouldn't be saying.

Talk about your own games not your competitors. I wonder what Reggie said in response to PS4 lapping it and XB1 on its heels despite the fact that it had a year headstart?

But the only reason he mentioned their lineups is because someone directly asked him about them during an interview. Should he have ignored the question, or should he have lied about how compelling their launch games were?

He's the president of NoA, I think handling PR should be as natural to him as breathing.

He could've elaborated, something like: It’s all about the games. The competitive systems have announced their launch lineups. I think we have better offerings.

But that is what he said. That is almost exactly what he said.

It could backfire horribly though. Nintendo can't really make fun of kinect when they are forcing gamepads on people. They really need to be winning, or at least not far behind too be able to make fun of the others.

They could have a go at the Vita though. but that wouldn't accomplish anything.

The comparison between gamepad and kinect is invalid because the kinect is a secondary feature while the Wii U is built around the gamepad.

As a rule of thumb.....it's best to have some bullets in the chamber before trying to take a shot at someone

Champer 1-6

Nintendo Think online is part of the game experince.. and we do not charge extra for this

Nintendo games are totally DRM free.. and you could even sell them again and again

When Nintendo do DLC.. it's true extra.. not some that should be part of the game from start

Nintendo games are the ones, who are most complete.. and we do need to send out 200+ patch corections

When Nintendo says "ring of dead".. you know it's a game

Nintendo had more experince in videogaming than our competition combined

This right here. If Nintendo does this then they will expose "next gen" gamers for the company worshipers they are.

Nintendo is not in a position to attack anyone. They released a ridiculously outdated console with a forced tablet controller that nobody cares about. There are many problems with the gamepad such as they are not sold separately so you can't use 2 of them on the same console and most games don't even utilize it such as Donkey Kong.

They have no third party support so Wii U is always going through a software drought. They don't have a real account system so if your Wii U breaks you lose anything you bought digitally. They still don't have standard features such as party chat or achievements/trophies or bluray/dvd playback that should be expected in 2014.

Nintendo didn't even have a E3 press conference last year. That alone shows how irrelevant the Wii U has made them. I bet they have already written it off and are looking to abandon it as soon as they finish releasing the already announced games. XB1/PS4 will both have great 8+ year lifecycles while Wii U will probably have 4 years at best.

This mewns that you think that when a company doesnt have a conference then its consoles are irrelevant. One thing: 3DS. Exposed!

Why does nintendo need to take shots at Sony or Microsoft when they have the mighty 3ds in which is the top selling console (40million plus and still selling ....also when there are no major releases (titanfall or infamous second son ) is on top of the charts .....and dominating the handheld market and has been number 1 selling console most of this year worldwide

It's not, 3DS has been selling between PS4 & XOne, and is only top selling console in a restricted kind view.  By the same logic the "PSP sold 80 million plus and still selling."

PlatformYearly (change)Total
PS4 2,150,734 (-51%) 6,343,001
3DS 1,495,508 (-90%) 43,580,074
XOne 947,720 (-69%) 3,908,869
PS3 765,025 (-91%) 81,505,406
PSV 562,912 (-82%) 7,860,493
WiiU 451,278 (-86%) 5,889,751
X360 387,453 (-93%) 80,454,364
PSP 201,317 (-93%) 80,477,507
Wii 141,625 (-93%) 100,553,380

I'm talking 8 th generation ...if that's the case the ds is still selling and it's at 154,000,000 or the wii which is at 101,000,000 also is still selling if we are talking fiscal year April 1 to "march 31 2014 no console has sold more hardware than 3ds ...you see how numbers can be deceiving .....yes playstaion 4 and xbox one came out in nov but from nov until today 3ds still has sold the most hardware in that time period

Exactly the point.  Numbers can be deceiving if you cherry pick dates and parameters.

Not exactly what he said though, and in PR it's far more about how you say something than exactly what you say.  If Sony had said that they think the DS has a different target demographic than their handheld offerings most people would have thought of that as reasonable even if they disagreed, but instead the Sony exec said the DS was a babysitting device.  Same thing here with Reggie, if he'd been more cordial and less flippant noone would remember the statement, but he wasn't.

...

Nintendo is able to do this but cant at the same time. They can list many advantages the Wii U has over PS4 and XB1, but Ninty is too mature and they have too much respect from Sony And MS. YOSHIDA and and CEO of MS(firget his name a lot) have praised Nintendo for its games and business. This will destroy trust and will start a war.

The second reason why Ninendo cant attack is that the fanboys will treat Nintendo like a bad person. When Sony and MS fight its awesome but when Nintendo gets involved its a crime.

In my opinion Nintendo should become a leader. A Hitler, or a Stalin and destroy the competition. Every week unveil a problem with the competition. Similar to how Dish and Direct TV compete. Destroy the competirion with games and marketing. Why buy a 3DS? Because its Nintendo. WHY BUY A WII U? BECAUSE ITS NINTENDO. NOT SONY OR MS.

First you have to be relevant for people to care about what you are going to say.

Nintendo taking jabs at Sony or M$ will not get them better sales. Most people dont even know who are in charge of these companies. Nevermind care about what they say about each other,

Walk down the street and ask any person what e3 is. They will look at you like your talking foreign

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st
