Paying attention to the competition and being petty are two different things.  There are a lot of things Nintendo could be doing better, and I just don't think petty insults should be on that list.

Ultimately, the "severity" of the comments are subjective, however I fail to see how one could claim that Sony and MS behavior during this 2013 was "petty" while at the same time Nitendo's was "mature". The "jabs" Sony made at Microsoft, you know the ones they made without even mentioning their names, are somehow more severe and assholish compared to the cordiality of Nintendo? Sorry I don't buy it.

With a weak online network, poor sales, and a lack of first party games? I don't think so.

Sony and Microsoft can do it because they're on the same level. Nintendo needs to get their shit together first.

You're just jealous I'm a Doctor at age 20 and I can spend all my off time on this forum talking about video games n sales n shit.

Sony's the biggest culprit when it comes to direct insults, but Microsoft's overall attitude towards its competition (and its fans, for that matter) is one giant "fuck you" to everybody.  It's not "no reason" just because you can't think of any incidents off the top of your head.

I'm not even talking about 2013.  In fact, I'd say Sony's re-earned a lot of respect in my eyes in the last year or so, and I loved what they did at E3.  But in the past they've said some straight up childish stuff, and it's going to be a long time before I forget about it.  Basically I'm under the impression that the need to straight up attack the competition rather than just focusing on making your own product better is a sign of immaturity and weakness.

If you want to hold the past against them then you have to do the same for Nintendo.

As of now your just making ignorant claims without backing it up. Yah, Sony was more arrogant then Nintendo in the past I remember a lot of their statements, now it seems like the shoe is on the other foot. 

So excuse me if I don't buy Sony or MS being assholes when I see them basically kneeling before Nintendo despite the fact that they are wrecking the Wii U with its year lead.

"too mature" are you crazy? do you remember last E3 they had miyamoto waering yellow cat ears and gloves. Now on topic, they dont do it becuase they are lacking in everything, nintendo didnt make any single improvement for the Wii U, no real online, no technolocical advances, no new services, nothing, if they attact sony or microsoft they would have a millions things to attack nintendo with.
