Forums - Gaming - Will PS4 x X1 graphical difference dissapear?

Anybody that call the difference between the games are minimal is lying to himself... with exception of Ryse every game I played on Xbone was a festival of jaggies.

You can say that the jaggies didn't hurts you but for me is something that makes me choose a platform over other (I know the best one was the PC for but I'm not a PC gamer and I don't like to play on PCs... so I have choose in the console world).

The games I played: Forza 5, Dead Rising, Ryse (this one is the exception), CoD, Battlefield 4, Killer Instinct and Ground Zeroes.

I already lived a gen with jaggies (PS360)... now I don't want another one... I hate the fact they are using post-processing AA like FXAA... I want more 1080p 30fps 2xMSAA games... I even don't care about 60fps... I will love if Konami dropped the 60fps to add 2x MSAA in Ground Zeroes instead to FXAA... the game could be way better in that way.

Unless they can make the hardware better, no. If DX12 makes a difference on the xbox one, opengl will make a difference on the ps4. There's simply no way that I can see it happening. The PS4 is stronger in every way. The xbox one can't catch up.

PS4 doesn't use OpenGL.

What DirectX 12 will do for PC is already a reality in consoles since... well ever... the consoles APIs are already low/close to metal... that's one of the advantage to be a fixed hardware. The gain with DirectX 12 on Xbone will be way lower than PC because the DirectX on Xbone is already have low level access to the GPU... it is already something close to metal.

DirectX 12 will help with development/ports between Xbone and PC.

Of course the performance gap will disappear. Xbox will even surpass the PS4 when they finally give up and switch to 8 bit graphics. It's gonna be 1080p120fps for EVERYTHING! Suck on this, Playstation.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Most likely not. We will probably see them constantly catch up and move apart for the next couple of years while they have more room for improvement, but at the end of the day developers have a fair bit more to work with on the PS4. No secret sources or special pastas are going to be able to change that :/

Not that it particularly matters either way.

Yes you're correct. Don't think it makes my point about the xbox one not catching up to the PS4 though.

Yes it does.  Look it up.

The power of the cloud will make the Xbone graphically superior. Hell, it may even out do Nividia's GTX 780 TI

Short answer: no.
