Did we honestly not understand each other? You are right. Price has nothing to do with value. That's what I have been saying this whole time, literally! Hence my saying, Value does not equal expense.

@Bold Umm what were we doing again ?

We were argumentatively agreeing with one another, lol.

So consumers determine value ?

Incomplete. Consumers determine the price/expense vs value which cannot be generalized without getting very mixed results. This is the problem that I had in the first place.

Consumers don't just determine value otherwise Lamborghini's/Ferrari's would be selling by the millions because everyone values them more than most other brands. Honda Civic sell more though even though people value Lambo's/Ferrari's/Insertfavoritecarhere because value does not equal top selling.

Feelings are one thing but using your wallet is another.

If the customers truly valued these brands more then they would buy it without question but that's not the case as you can see ...

You can value something without purchasing it, is what I'm saying. I'm not really part of the discussion about PS4 vs Xbox One, I just simply stated that top selling and value are not the same and there are literally thousands of analogies that can prove this in every single market.

Your right, budgets don't exist and everything is the same price.

@Bold How so ? If a solution is not bought at all then it's clear that the market doesn't see any value in the solution ...

Price can be a barrier but what the consumer buys says alot about the product itself ...

Nice. After a page and half. We did come back to price and value.

@fatslob For the paper question. You'll have to call Dunder Mifflin. Unless you meant a piece of paper as currency. That topic gets complex after it was no more backed by precious metals.

Nice spirited discussion guys. Keep at it. :)

As for the question itself I would have to say that it's also determined by the market ... Printing money does not mean that the currency's monetary worth will hold constant. Much like how people purpose that virtual currency has monetary worth in them and hence how it gains value despite the lack of a physical representation.

@Bold Now if only the rest of the community would let go of the corporation controlling helmets ...

Yeah, and those products are obviously going to be taken off the receivers list and no longer sold. As for, "how so?", simple...have you ever not been able to afford something but still valued it? Still put forth the effort of thinking about that item that you've always wanted but could never have? 99% of the worlds population falls under that category, and thats giving more credit than is due.

Yes it says alot but it is incomplete data. I feel like I'm repeating myself for some reason.
