Depending on how much Destiny maketing will be effective I could bet the One will pass the WiiU by the end of September... but I think that by the end of Octuber is a safer bet.

I still don't think X1 will pass Wii U this year and I question if it ever will until maybe the end of it's life when no one would care. After TF and a temp price cut not moving consoles I'm not sure what people think will be moving these millions of X1s. Halo is still well over a year away. The first Xbox had 2 but didn't exactly move Xbox hardware against an entrenched opponent with a superior library and cheaper hardware.

Much like the Wii U I expect a very scary quarter for MS after the holidays(Not that sold in shipments and them overstuffing the channel and a 1.6 billion spend isn't already a scary quarter). Wii U started off it's life outpacing the Wii. It didn't last very long. I don't think X1s holidays will be anywhere near as good as the 360s. I wouldn't be surprised to see x1 start doing worse in it's 2nd year than the first.

.

It was suppose to shoot ahead of the "Wii U" like the PS4 did. With E3 around the corner, it's already to late.

Actually halo did move consoles. If it wasn't for halo the wouldn't be a x1. The original xbox sold what 26 million? If halo n halo 2 wernt ever made it would have sold less than 20 million maybe less than 15 million. X1 will pass wii u by October.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

You really think it might never catch up?  I think at the current pace it will certainly catch up this year.  So unless Nintendo really does get a nitable boost from upcoming games to atleast put them on par with where XONE seems to sell on a weekly basis MS almost has to catch up at some point.

Big difference between Wii/Wii U  and Xbox One..   3rd party games are NOT coming to the Wii U at all. After E3 when all the big multi-plats are announced and almost NONE of them are coming to the Wii U..  that will be it. The Wii U will be a 1st PARTY console only for the most part.  To not think that the XBox One will catch up to the Wii U at ANY time .. that blows my mind.  The first 4 months of 2014 it has almost sold 3X as many consoles as the Wii U. Most who want MK8, SSB already bought the WIi U..  I don't think they will be the system sellers many think.   I do think by the end of the 2014 the Xbox One will be ahead of the Wii U. While Halo 4 might be 2015..   I think Halo 2 Next-Gen remake will be a big seller. Halo 2 will remind those who loved it to BUY a Xbox One.. (Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break aren't looking to shabby either) .. I think MicroSoft has some surprises for E3 also...      Nintendo doesnt.

It didn't move enough hardware to prevent the Xbox from being an irrelevant niche when compared to the successful competition might be better phrasing to convey my thought.  Believe whatever you like. I see a 3-4 million deficit and dont see enough games that are exclusive for them to beat the gap.

I really don't. With ALL of 360's advantages nuetralized I don't see how they can have as great holiday seasons.  They already stuffed the retail channel this holiday.  Retailers aren't gonna take that years in a row.  Even at 30k more than what Wii U is doing weekly(last weeks extra) it would take 34 weeks to erase 1 million of that lead... so 3-4 years.  Edit 1.96 to 2.61 years

Smash bros and MK will be available for Wii U. They wont raise the console to some crazy level but enough that x1 might never be able to erase that 3 million lead until nobody even cares anymore.

Well the current gap seems to be 2.6m so that would be 87 weeks to pass or about 1.7 years.  That said the current weekly difference is more than more than 40k and we both know that seasonal changes particularly when the holidays come around will vastly change that weekly difference and I don't think it'll be in Nintendo's favor.  I'd be surprised if MS doesn't pass Nintendo in 2015 at the latest.

edit: scratch that I did the gap math wrong it's actually 1.6m at the moment.  Decreasing the time it would take to pass the WiiU to 1.1 years.  With that in mind and likely boosts from the holidays I'd put my money on Xone passing the WiiU this year.
