Forums - Microsoft - Ask VGchartz #3: How Long Have You Subscribed to Xbox Live?

And what do you love most about it?

Love it or hate, XBox Live is literally a game changer with how we interact with our games to our friends, families, and rivals worldwide. You'll be hard pressed to not include Xbox Live when discussing what contributed to today's home console online services.

So my question is how long has this service provided you the rich online experience you needed to play with your fellow gamers?

Ask VGchartz is an ongoing series of mine where I ask gamers in this forum about their favorite games, systems, services, and etc! I hope you all enjoy answering the question and remember to keep posts positive and not offensive!

2008-present, with one year off when I was working overseas.

My favorite part is being able to arrange a game before the fact with the party feature. Games with Gold is a nice feature in theory, but in practice it's been a little underwhelming.

I think an on and off total would be 3ish years. Sometimes I have it other times not. I tend to go in long modes of wanting to play Sony products or MS products or PC or Wii etc. I usually don't constantly switch back and forth daily or weekly between all of them. I don't have enough time.

Since 2003. Favorite part is party chat.

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

2003.

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

About 4 years total. Had a single player phase for a few years but am about to renew it.

Always loved the ease of the party system/chat and just how easy it was to talk to people and see what they were doing/did.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

0 hate paying for something that should be free or optional (same goes for playstation)

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Through 2011 and 2012. The party chat was great, I'd often use it to just talk to friends whilst doing homework. I'd say I got a more seamless experience online overall than I did with my PS3. I still think it's overpriced though, and too many things that should be free are being put behind a paywall, which is why I haven't been subscribed for the past year.
