Forums - Nintendo - 3DS is cannibalizing Wii U

Sorry, I meant GTA not GT. There were 2 GT games, which easily outsold the 2 best MH games. I think GTA was a much bigger game changer then MH.

Still PSP had GTA for NA/EU, GoW for NA, GT for EU, Crisis Core (among other JRPG's) for NA/J, and Monster Hunter for J.....

Vita has Uncharted and Assassin's Creed for NA, and Persona for NA/J............not the same as PSP, Vita is a flop for many reasons like this.

But there were more MH games than GT games.  MH kept PSP globally relevant long after NA had given up on it.

So no answer then? No surprise there considering how hell bent you are on avoiding the question! It's understandable though. I certainly couldn't have come up with an answer that didn't make me look like a complete fool afterall!

Is English not your first language?

Maybe, but Europe held strong longer then Japan

This "trend" isn't really a trend at all, because as I've said, each console selling less was not for the same continuous reasons each time. It's a not a trend, it's a serious of individual and different mistakes.

Nope, it's a sales trend as the numbers prove! Regardless, the fact remains that MK, SSB, and so ons never sold enough consoles for said console to beat out it's predecessors. Now stop beating around the bush and answer the question! Why are these games going to sell enough consoles now when they never have before?

The numbers only prove they each made increasingly bad misakes, not that those mistakes are part of an overriding trend.

Wii U isn't the SNES. It isn't the N64. It isn't the GCN.

Wii U is tracking below GCN because by this point in its life GCN was $150 cheaper, and had Smash. Ergo, remove these obstacles and it has a chance. More expensive consoles naturally take longer to hit their stride.

Without MH, you'd be shaving  huge chunk off PSP's lifetime sales.

Because PS4 is the exception to the rule. Generally a more expensive console, like the PS3/360/Wii U, will not hit its real stride until it drops in price.

System's today really are not as expensive as people make them out to be.

The Super NES when inflation is taken into account was the equivalent of $337 at launch. The original Game Boy would be $183. The Playstation clocks in at $451. The GameCube $264.

$400 today or less in today's market for a relatively high end piece of electronics is a fairly affordble price.

By and large most electronics are cheaper today actually than they used to be back in 80s/90s. If you wanted a really high end TV back then you have to pay a good $3000 to get one, DVD players were $1000+ at launch and for quite a while, a nicely speced PC also cost a lot more back then.

Don't u think western developers wanted better specs?  Maybe something stronger?  Do you think the wii u would be worse off (sales wise) with better third party support?
