this again, i think you are missing his point. Im actually with zero on this one. The two versions will be different enough to justify their individual existence. Fact is if people want the big screen experience, they WILL get a Wii u, give people a bit more credit they understand the differences in HW we are talking a primarily MP gaming affair. They have different strengths. 3ds smash on the go, wii u MP.

that shipped saled when Ninty decided to go with the tablet controller. THey can either bring motion back to the forefront, thats not gonna happen. OR they can just make a bunch of stuff like X with crap yourself visuals that cant be done on 3ds and that hasnt been Ninty's style for a while.

Motion control games have been selling way less recently so it may not be such a bad thing they are not focusing on that.

Games like X are exactly what they need. They just need more of them, across a range of genres.


seeing as those types of games take some time to make and Ninty themselves seem to be against doing them. Im gonna throw that in the probably wont happen pile

The point is more that the 3ds doesn't need the help as much as the wii u does, and I would have to agree.  If the Wii u were the only place you could get smash bros in this cycle of consoles (or at least for a good year or so before putting it on the 3ds) then it would help bolster the Wii u.  So in this regard I suppose I would agree with curl, though overall I still don't think cannibalization is the Wii u's biggest problem.

Super Smash Bros., be it exclusive or not, wouldn't save the Wii U and you know it!
