"SCEA can confirm Col Rodgers, who served as Game Director on Driveclub, departed Evolution Studio in February 2013 to pursue other opportunities."

Shh now, there's no need for accuracy and facts here.

Remembering that this game almost made me buy a console at launch makes me shiver...

To be honest, I'd rather as a game designer work on a small indie project where I had tons of creative control and could make what ever I wanted than be stuck working for a Sony/EA/Microsoft/etc. working on what they want under rigid restrictions and tight deadlines.

Even if you succeed at those companies and make a hit game ... you basically lose because they will want you to then make sequels to that one hit game over and over (and over) again for the next decade.

Why is everybody leaving Sony???

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

Was he responsible for “graphics > 60fps“? If yes I hope DriveClub will be a 60fps game now.

Well, I remember that a guy from Evolution said that some in the team find graphics more important and some would prefer 60fps that's why I ask who he is.

I know the PS4 and XBO sold really well at launch, but looking at the bigger picture I just don't know about this gen. Some worrying signs ...

Yep, the early sales record-breaking stuff had people thinking console gaming was in a secure position. A year from now when PS4 is the generation leader but selling worse than the 5th, 6th and 7th gen leaders and Xb one is behind the Xb 360 curve, and Wii U is still Wii U people will be very frowny faced about console gaming...I predict.

He left in february 2014, why did you change the quote to 2013?

Sony has confirmed Rodgers' departure to IGN. A representative provided IGN the following statement: "SCEA can confirm Col Rodgers, who served as Game Director on Driveclub, departed Evolution Studio in February 2014 to pursue other opportunities."

I don't have all the names but at the moment everyday there are importants figures leaving big studios and this affects everyone. In japan with the producer of Castlevania Koji Igarashi who left Konami recently. Stig Asmussen (Game Director of God of War 3) from Santa Monica studios, Jaime Griesemer (Lead Designer of infamousSS) from Sucker Punch, ken levine closing irrational games, Amy Hennig from Naughty Dogs, And so on.

And yesterday Seth Killian has also resigned, another one from Santa Monica. If you add to the list Cliff Bleszinski and David Jaffe, who both left a little further back in time for the same kind of reasons, the list become quite impressive.

I think this would even deserve it's own thread, with a complete list of names, and where we could debate on what is going on in the world of video games in overall. I would do it myself but i can't  xD

He didn't change it. IGN did. When they first updated the article they said "February 2013".
