The power of Titanfall compels them.

So does this not include the bundles since they are digital? My purchase will not be counted for list salez warz :(

Ikr! I bought it digital like a lot of people and we won't be counted until EA announces it. But I do think MCV counts the bundles.

Interesting, lower selling game bigger hardware boost. Of course the HW boost in terms of number of consoles sold is still only about 10% of inFamous sales,at 75K. But I think the inFamous number is more like 100K, because if VGC numbers are a guide inFamous falls between 139K (KZ:TF) and 98K (Fifa 14). Do we have more refined numbers for these two games than the current VGC numbers? This would put TF at something above 175K.

I do wonder if anyone really thought inFamous would outsell Titanfall.

So estimating Xb one hardware and software for TF launch at 17K and 175K that puts UK SW:HW at 10:1. For USA it's 5.6:1. Interesting difference between these two markets. Seems more people in UK bought Xb one in anticipation of TF than was the case in the USA. More US folks made out in that deal given the TF Xb one bundle basically gave you TF for free. And now post launch it's even cheaper. All good things come to those who wait.

1 in 4 Xbox One owners bought Titanfall
1 in 9 PS4 owners bought Infamous

Titanfall (inc. PC?) outsold Infamous by around 2:1

Can we work out actual, proper lifetime sales of both consoles if we find out exactly how many copies of Titanfall or Infamous were sold?

How about we give this the same "bullshit don't believe it" approach as we give other "rumors", oh wait nevermind, this ones in favor of the xbox, my bad :P

Are you referring to insiderp?

Not any particular site, just the general populace choosing to believe or disbelieve rumors based on their personal preference in console.

I'd rather know how much it sold on Origin, personally, as thats where I bought my copy.

Oh, well if you're not referring to any particular site then this shouldn't be a comment on MCV, which is the best source for UK gaming sales. If this was insiderp, thuway, or some random blog site then yes, it would be a rumour. But with it being MCV, it's confirmed.

He's talking about Dark_Feanor who yesterday was downplaying MCV as the source for all the PS4 sales increasing more than X1 sales articles just because he had never heard of them.

Dont know why we cant be glad that both consoles saw big hardware boosts in the UK thanks to new games.

Yeah, not knowing about a site shouldn't disprove its credibility. I'll admit he's wrong there.

Lies! Lies!

Just kidding.

Wow, That's REALLY good for a brand new just launched game in off season. Sometimes it really helps to be a sequel. I wonder how Infamous would have sold as a new IP.

No...just no. Lets not think about that. It took long enough to reach where it is. Don't think about InFamous being a new IP the way the first game was handled.

It's like you are grabbing me in a war zone saying, 'Shhhhh, no.....no....talk......just quiet...

...be very quiet.....  Will be peacefull soon......'

Ok, S.T.A.G.E. , I say, tell me the story again how we saved the princess?  (gunfire heard in the background.)

(Sad disturbing image)

Dude...I am just saying the result would be the same as the first, just prettier. They had to learn from two other games. Insomniac is a growing company. Not everyone is an adept company Naughty Dog or Sony Santamonica. Insomniac is the type of company that has to grow and learn. Look at Sony Japan...they are falling behind the western branch of Sony and they made two of the greatest games of all time.

Meh, its UK and its OK.

Titanfall vs InFamous - two next-gen exclusives compared

This month has seen both next-gen consoles finally get their hands on a big exclusive, but what do the arrivals of Titanfall and InFamous: Second Son reveal?

Well, we know that InFamous helped PS4 hardware sales jump by 106 per cent week-on-week. Titanfall, meanwhile, helped Xbox One to a 96 per cent sales boost.

MCV has also been told by a trusted retail source that Titanfall sold just under double the amount of units its first week than InFamous managed in its debut week, although of course Titanfall sales fell around 75 per cent in its second week leaving it behind both Sony's game and Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.

MCV can also reveal that around one in four UK Xbox One owners purchased Titanfall. Meanwhile, around one in nine PS4 owners acquired InFamous: Second Son.

None of this takes digital purchases directly from Microsoft and Sony into account, however.

It’s easy to argue that really InFamous and Titanfall are sufficiently different in theme and potential reach so as to render such comparisons meaningless. However, it’s just as easy to argue that at a time when hundreds of thousands of consumers are desperate to get their hands on new games for their still new gaming hardware, the performance of these early titles is telling.

Presumably this is talking about only two-days worth of sales as inFAMOUS has not been on shelves a full week yet? Either way this was to be expected as not only did Titanfall release on more platforms, but shooters are a genre that appeal to a lot more people than superhero games.

Forgive me for going off-topic, but do you not try and disprove the credibilty of Insiderp because you do not know about the site? Even though they have provided fairly accurate sales figues in the past?
