is not about the resolution only, is about the overall what is a better value/investment now and for the future and if people don't get that well I'm very sorry, and NO I don't buy a Videogame console for skype or cable in it(really ?), we move on to Next gen consoles to see a leap in visual, see stuff we couldn't see in the past gen. and in my book the PS4 is delivering, if people can't see that again I'm sorry for that. everyone saying "oh the xbone has better games a launch", "better retail games " ? , <---  really ? kill zombies a sub HD, a racing game that lacks athmosphere and it didn't achieve E3 visuals?, a game so repetive that wants you to go to sleep but..but.. it looks great  right? in sub HD right ?? , a freaking camera that I didn't want and is pointing at me all the freaking time, a console that uses DDR3 old as hell, horrible game installations, all this for a more expensive price tag ? reeally ? I mean really ?

I'm not here to convince anyone, the thing is so evident it just make want to knock my head at wall, I mean how the hell is people paying more for an inferior overall console ? is just ridiculuos. When the xbone was announced I got really excited cause is very simple I love videogames, I was really excited about the xbone but then it happen!, sports, TV, TV, TV, TV, sports, sports, sports, movies, movies.  I was like :  WTF FU#$%CK ? was that ? and then all hell went loose by MS restrictions, and later the price! 500 bucks!!, are they retards ?.

It really bothers me in how MS spit on their own fanbase and still they manage to sell some consoles. Me  liking the PS4 instead of the xbone is not fanboyism is just common sense.  

I suspect the bolded sums up what makes you different from a large number of gamers.  And of the smaller number that are in your corner, they dont buy a next generation system purely to see a leap in visuals, they buy a new PC GPU purely to see a leap in visuals.

It is all a matter of perspective.  You clearly have yours, little sense in my trying to change it.

Not even remotely related to the topic but my Xbox One has two fingerprints on the front that apparently look like somebody had gold spray paint on their fingers. It was like that right out of the box. It's driving me crazy!

That doesn't sound like a good time. Did you just get it? if so just return it and get a new one. I don't know anyway that you could remove it without effecting the console.

Got it like a week ago.  I noticed it instantly but I thought I could just ignore it or cover it up.  Now, they're driving me mad.  The console works like a dream but that blemish is bothering me a lot, now. 

lol Smaller number, definitely it has nothing to do with the visuals and that is why the Wii U is such a success!.... oh wait!!  

Better visual doesn't mean exactly a nicer picture, in gaming is a lot bigger than that, a console with that is capable of better visuals equals a console of capable of better atmosphere(game more immersive), better physics(natural collitions), more players on screens, better resolution(easy on the human eye), better frame rate(easy on the human eye), new ways gameplays, etc...etc. If you only get the meaning of better visuals by only a nicer picture, well you need to open a little more your mind, and yes people buy a new GPU for better visuals and don't forget to add all the above I just mention ;).  

Also remember the game industry is what it is now, not because online gaming, not because the console extra features skype, cable or whatever,  is because of the games that brought us unique experiences.  

I knew the 50$ promotion (like Amazon) was in fact a price cut from Microsot "hidden" in a retailer promotion. I knew it!

Well with the Amazon code you could buy the console (plus Forza digital) at $399 this morning but the code didn't works anymore.

They are reaching the price the console was suppose to be launched.

It should have been 450 from de begining.

Wow just read this whole thread, i will chime in on the value vs feature debate, some people need to calm down but they wont, thats what being a fanboy is all about and you know what...that ok, who cares if you are passionate and irrational right? Think about that for a minute.

Now for the main event xbone vs ps4, first of all xbox will not be a complete failure this generation but it will be trailing the ps4 and maybe even overtaking it but don't expect ps4 to reach 3 to 1 or even 2 to 1 we will be looking at a very narrow gap for most of this generation.

Xbox has done some damage to its brand but have been very quick to fix these things which is very impressive for such a large company to be able to turn around and say fuck it lets change it, but don't fool yourself whether its temporary or not All these discounted bundles and price cuts indicate soft sales this is a strategic play to move consoles. The problem is MS was convinced it would destroy Sony in sales and while their current sales are good they are i suspect way below forecast and that is what is key here, this will drive MS to be very competitive in terms of price and marketing (a win for gamers).

So in terms a value who wins? Well it depends, sure some people will buy a ps4 for the slight power advantage but the majority of people don't care or are simply unaware of it as its not painfully obvious, you guys may all be experts and digital foundry exists because there is a audience that loves the tech side but that is a minority.

So Its safe to say the power discrepancy will not be the single thing that decided this generation's winner.

So then what will? Well MS was betting on television you can be sure MS did its homework they knew exactly how many people watch Netflix HBO Hulu etc on the 360 they knew people were using their 360 for more tv than actual gaming, suddenly the xbone starts making more sense right?
Now what comes next is a series of compromises, the Xbox has to work everywhere and under every setup, for some people that is simply cable but for a rapidly growing number people its other boxes (roku appletv xbmc plex smarttv). These other boxes basically were non existent 5 years ago when plans for the Xbox would have been in full swing, so its seems that the combination of timing and region limitations really changed perception of what would otherwise be a great feature.

So is incorporating tv the deciding factor? Probably not, in a world were you have other machines that do it better this simply wont be a deciding factor sure some people will benefit but again a minority thus not giving us a system seller feature.

So then if its not graphics or tv whats left, kinnect? I wont bother doing much of a breakdown on this nobody really cares that much how they interact with their console both could have it or not it would be of little consequence the only problem is the cost it potentially adds.

So power made no difference, tv was a few years late and with some compromises, and kinnect was expensive,
So games? Well games are great they are true system sellers but what happens if they both have them? The reality is both companies will deliver great tittles this generation, so now what?

Well we go back to my first prediction Xbox made some mistakes and ended up with a more expensive console with feature that while not bad aren't terribly necessary either, but Xbox had a lot of good rep left over from last generation people had great experiences on the Xbox why not buy the new one right?

This all sounds vaguely familiar ps2 ps3? Backwards compatibility, sd card readers, 6 usbports,expensive complex cpu, bluray....all great not terribly necessary and much like xbox, sony had a lot of good will left from ps2.

So what was the result of that? Which of those 2 won? 360 right? The console with less feature (launch feature only) and yet at the end of the generation in ended in a tie more or less, yet MS still won why?

Forecast, MS beat them, Sony fell well under, so there you have it my AM rant.

TLDR both consoles are good will sell more or less the same.
