They really need to bring their A game this year, they need a press conference and they need to announce some pretty major stuff at it. Zelda, Metroid, Starfox, a Pokemon RPG, give us something that might actually help save the Wii U.

Also, they have games we haven't heard from since last January... ie) Yarn Yoshi, and SMT X FE. Hoping they announce some OS changes because I'll be honest, it is not fun to use. They still haven't implemented on screen notifications... in 2014.

But yeah, they have a lot to prove, and they need to show they can compete with Sony and MS on the big stage. Zelda, Yoshi, SMT, Sonic, Zelda, some Mario spinoff, 3rd party exclusive, Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2, and X. They've got the games, now let's hope they bring it.

Does anyone feel like Nintendo has decided to just "mail it in" re the Wii U - Not abandon it but just do the bare minimum- I don t mean they release bad games for it just fewer games and games that are far less ambitious
They do bare bones marketing/advertising, that they are just buying time until a future point in time that they have a product they want to get behind full force? It has felt like that to me since the beginning (or close)- the difference is I thought they were just buying time until they had their "ducks in a row" re the Wii U and games for it= but the more time that lapses w out a real push on their part, It seems they are just going to bypass any real effort altogether-

If this is not the case re Nintendo and the Wii U then when should we expect their big push to save the Wii U or at least save face re the Wii U- When will Iwata provide direction re the Wii U that existing console owners can get excited about and prospective console owners can get interested enough to consider a purchase ( or just provide direction at all)?

Very little people go to these events compared to the overall gaming population.

Those that watch E3 on tv or online are probably hardcore enough about gaming that they will watch any stream (E3 or direct).

^Pretty much all of that. I feel like they need Wii U releases for their two most popular handheld series as well, Pokemon and Animal Crossing, and not just spin-offs, but proper games, both could really help move some Wii U's.

I'm thinking a new Metroid is in the works, I doubt Retro's been working only on DK, but with Pokemon... I really want them to make a proper game on the Wii U, but I don't think they'll ever do it because it makes too much sense. I'm guessing their reasoning would be that it's meant for handhelds, but I honestly don't agree with that.

Animal Crossing would make sense though. It's one of those 3DS games that would transition nicely to the Wii U.

They really need E3. There`s no ND that can replace an E3 press conference.
Not only do they create a bigger impact than a ND, they were also the place for stuff like Miyamoto coming out with a shield and a sword; "my body is ready", the Zelda orchestra, etc,. NDs just don`t have that.

To me it will always be like watching a show live and watching it at home. The songs are the same, but the experience isn`t.

I hope they do, they missed a great opportunity last year to show the great games that were coming on the WiiU and I think they lost a bunch of hype by not going. With the whole xbox one fiasco last year it would have been easy for Nintendo to make an excellent presentation and move loads of consoles.

Last time they said that they decided not to go because they didn't have any new hardware to show. So, if they decide reveal their QoL plattaform this year, and if this plattaform look like what is on my signature, so yeah, i believe they will come. Another situation is if they reveal games with nfc capability, so i beleive would have a show as well. Lets wait and see.

I have to call BS on this. I read online that Iwata got rid of the annual conferences when he became CEO of NoA, and I doubt they will reveal their QOL platform at E3 because it isn't really a "gaming" platform (They did the same thing with the Vitality Sensor, or so we heard). I think they will reveal NFC games, but they won't be the star of the show.

I really hope they have another press conference just as long as they do it RIGHT!! No random Mario games that nobody wants, Not too much casual stuff like NintendoLand, and if there is any 3rd party suport left for the Wii U, showcase it.

I want to believe and get hyped up over things they should and could do at this e3, but alas I feel like a dog who has been beat wY too much.

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

There literaly no point of a stage unless they want to just waste money. No one does tv of nintendo :e3 for years. E3 stage has never saved a company or series.

No, but I think they will.

Last year they were against two super strong competitors launching brand new systems. This year they should have no problem going toe to toe against the Microsoft and Sony shows, so I expect they'll compete for some of that E3 hype.
