It isn't really one particular point in the game, but Final Fantasy 8 is where the series....not so much jumped the shark...but this was the point that I realized that the series wasn't infallible. Since that game, there were maybe 2 main series games that I really enjoyed. Of course, there have only been 4 main series games (not counting sequels) since then, which is an entirely different issue that I won't get into.

I loved ff 8. What was it that make you feel that way? For me it happened after 10.

Well, if it's what I'm thinking of, it's where they all realize that they all went to the same orphanage together (except for the cowboy douchebag) but they all just forgot because the espers (or whatever they called the summonable monsters I forget) gave them amnesia/one of the dumbest and most unnecessary plot twists in the history of of story telling.

Lol. i thought it would be the crappy drawing system.

Well there's that too, since the draw system essentially just made magic into a secondary item system.  However, the junction system is just sort of broken to begin with and frankly I felt the problems with the story overshadowed any issues I had with junctioning.

All of these things, plus getting a salary, and enemies that level up with you and the completely unlikeable protagonist.  And at the time, I was pretty disappointed with the sci fi setting, though I've come to terms with that since then.

I loved the card game though.

In Super Mario Brother's Brawl when: Jiggleypuff appears! Seriously, how is he/she not the strongest thing in the entire game? Have you ever tried to beat up a marshmallow? They are squishy and can take a beating. The only thing that can hurt Jiggley should be fire, but that would lead to sadness.

Kidding...

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Never. There could be several hundred crappy games for a series and then there could be one amazing one that comes out afterwards.

As long as the game interests me, I'll play it no matter how many bad games came out prior to its release.

I don't play FF games for card games, though.  So that really had no bearing on it for me. But funny you mention that, because that was a sign of things to come for the series.  Padding the games with activities that really didn't need to be in Final Fantasy. I didn't care about the card games.  I didn't care about blitzball.  Those things just took away from what had up until now been the core Final Fantasy experience.

The final boss in Metal Gear Rising. I know the game is suppose to be a bit over the top, but it was rather jarring considering how seriously the game was trying to convey itself up to that point.

I'd have to say True Crime: Streets of LA when Nick Kang fights Ancient Wu's dragon form on the sewers... by shooting it with two Desert Eagle.
