and ???? what's surprising every company does that.... phone companies charge between 5 thousands and 15 thousands bucks for wiretaping to the police.... there is nothing new or surprising here... it's funny how snowden poped a buble that was nothing new what so ever to anybody with half brain and was informed a little bit....

Haha... of course they do.

This kind of thing is scandalous in europe. Doenst need to be the FBI. But in the US everything goes it seems.

what are you talking about... this is going on everywhere in the world even in europe.... I know for a fact that phone companies (in europe, in france in particular)  charge money to the authorities when thay ask access to the lign to wiretap it.... this is not like they do it randomely.... they have court orders... and even if they didn't at the cost they charge it would dwarf any budget in any nation to do random surveillance.... so cost is prohibitiv to goverment abuse anyway....

Microsoft values people's privacy, so to speak.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

that doesnt justify it or make it any less wrong though.

It goes on, but its scandalous and company's get bad rep for it. Also, depending on the country it might even be illegal. ING on the Netherlands was recently "attacked" because of it.

Atleast they're not giving it out for free..

If they gave it out for free, then MS wouldnt be able to say they 'value' peoples data.

Winner!

I can understand a free service selling your data to marketing businesses, but a paid service selling your data to a government service? Your privacy is our priority. Yeah to get your hands on it.

But let's spin it: At least some of your tax money goes back into your gaming service this way!

you arent looking at this right...

Not sure what the problem is.

The FBI demand the info... MS has just decided to charge to do it I presume?

They HAVE to hand the info over, they CANT refuse... why not charge them for it?

If anything it might reduce the amount the FBI ask for.

Try charging the police when they ask to see your info, or your tax service.
I'll try it next time I cross the border, you want to see my passport, that will be $30 please.

There's something to be said of our government for sure. No wonder we can't get out of debt with all the ridiculously stupid expenses the government pays out. Since we're on a video game forum and I'm not a Microsoft fan, I'll completely ignore that for right now and focus on Microsoft.

Microsoft says they won't do anything with your information but sell it instead. Don't like M$ take away your privacy. Buy a PS4 or Wii U now!  Perferably a PS4.  Graphics are better.
