Seeing as I've never played any God of War games, and am really looking forward to Chains of Olympus for the PSP.  What are your thoughts on playing Chains of Olympus first on the PSP, then getting GOW1 & 2 to play on my BC PS3, and then when GOW3 comes out in 2009, get that as well.

COO is supposed to be a precursor to the first GOW, so is this the logical way to go?

I thought it was either a sequel to GoW2 or something between GoW1 and 2.

Anyway, having played the demo i totally agree that the game is just fantastic.

I haven't touched a God of War game either. I played God of War for the PS2, for a brief period and then got side-tracked because of work. Traded it in for a Xbox 360 game at Gamestop.

I seriously need to get into this franchise :D

Chains of Olympus > GOW1 > GOW2 > GOW3 sounds like ure saying that chains of olympus sux compared to the other GOW games..... i thought u got some new info on the reviews....

I'd actually go 1, chains, 2, then 3 :P but that's just me. I generally don't like out-dating through technology as I play a series of games xD And as far as I can tell, chains might be better looking that the first one :P

I think what he means is should he play CoO before playing 1 and 2, because chronologically, in the GoW world, CoO comes first. I am wondering whether to do this to, because I never played through 1 and 2

It's technically a prequel, but it'll probably be one of those prequels that assume you've already played the existing games. You shouldn't be totally lost, but I expect you would get the most of the God of War games if you play them in the order they were released in.

None of the GoW games takes very long to beat for the first time, so you'll have plenty of time to play them in whatever order you want.
