No beta code needed - let your imagination run riot

Microsoft has thrown open the Project Spark Xbox One beta to all Xbox Live users, including players who don't have an Xbox Gold subscription. Fancy living the exhilarating life of a game developer? Now's your chance to get your hands dirty.

"In some cases, users that were already in the beta key queue may need to click the 'Request Beta Key' button, then exit and relaunch the game to get in for the first time," notes Major Nelson in a blog post.

The Xbox One beta includes access to any games created in the Windows 8.1 beta, which has been bubbling away since December last year. You'll be able to work on the same creation across Xbox One, PC and (ultimately) Xbox 360. Alas, there's no Xbox 360 beta in the works for the moment, so last gen players will have to wait till Project Spark's full release later this year.

Thanks for the thread, I went out and got it. I don't fully understand the game, but it looked nice.

Sounds like this could be a killer app. Free to play even without gold subscription and interesting use of Kinect

I found a Slenderman game, tetris, and a puzzle one called annihilation.

I would very much like to hear impressions of those who have used it.

I downloaded it last night and had a blast with it. Superb game and can't wait to see the full version!!
