Didn't even finish the game - that's how much I liked it.
Hard to describe my feelings about the game but I basically felt that I had played the same game before, and some of the mechanics (the levelling system) felt tacked on. Also, didn't like the sheer absurdity of some of the sequences. I know that sounds hypocritical given I love uncharted but uncharted doesn't really take itself seriously whereas the tomb raider reboot did, particularly with the graphics style.
It was a good game nonetheless, I just felt that it was over-rated for what it actually was.
.. Lara moans and squeeks that much that my gf woke up in the middle of the night and walked into the room and said: "nikkom wtf are you doing"
Lesson learned: had to buy a new headset after that..

Be honest, you didn't have any pants on either.
OT: It's a good game, but it feels like deja vu (Uncharted) to me. Also, Lara's transition from innocent, fresh faced, crewmember to Rambo is very jarring. I hope the sequel does more to make the gameplay experience uniquely Lara like the originals did.

Even she says she was surprised how easy it was! I just pretend they were on the island for weeks and every camp fire represents days of survival in the wild. It's still a video game so, in a way, people expecting it to play by rules that aren't even questioned in other games is a testimony to how much it gets right. We're holding it to a higher standard.
I got it from PS+ but have yet to finish it. I'm maybe about 2 hours in (the same and only day I have played it).
So far it's good. No big complaints except shit from the very beginning escalated quickly. Poor development if you ask me, but aside from that it has been good. Really enjoying the gameplay.

Yeah she did. And I actually started thinking that maybe she was brainwashed Bourne Identity style to be a cold-blooded killer by her parents. That would be an awesome twist in the sequel.
I think the reason why things like this are so scrutinized for this game is because the developers tried to explain how she becomes the woman she is, but execute it poorly. In other games, like the original Tomb Raider game for example, Lara was just bad ass because she was bad ass. They never tried to explain her killing expertise, so people didn't think much of it. Same for Nathan Drake, Duke Nukem, Johnny Cage, Mario, etc.

I actually downloaded the PS3 version AFTER playing the PS4 version. To my surprise, a lot of things looked better. The 2D plants, fire, etc. didn't stand out as fake and the water in certain parts looked more realistic on PS3. The higher res uncovered a lot of flaws I hadn't seen before. I'd still play the PS4 version over the PS3 version because of the better effects and character models, though.
