I just had a 50 cc grand prix, staying out in front for all off them and got my first 3 star rating, so it could be true. Peach was second on all 4 races so I dont think the amount of points you win by effects the rating.

Maybe if you stay behind the leader and win all the races in the last few seconds (60 points and only 10 seconds or so in 1st place over 4 races) you should get a really bad rating like D or E if he is right and time spent in 1st is the only factor.

50 cc you have to win by half a mile or something. I was talking more about the 150cc and Mirror ones. I can confirm that going offroad regardless of your time is bad. You need 60 points for a 3 star rating and only 53 for a two or one star rating. This much I do know. I also know that they are a royal pain to get. How many points you win by is not a factor.

So is it not possible to drift+boost with the wheel?
and also I see a stat for % of wii wheel usage. What exactly does that effect?

You can drift and boost with wheel, you just set it to manual. Hold the B button while you turn like normal. The % is just something interesting, if it is high enough you get a gold wheel symbol on wifi.

Oh, I thought the gold wheel means that your good. You know like better than a white wheel but worse than one star. Thats cool.
