I think you have been looking at the wrong pictures.

While MKWii doesn't look as much better than MK:DD as Galaxy does over sunshine, and Brawl over Melee, I still see an improvement.

Is it OK to put pictures in this thread? I'm putting some, but just tell if I can't, and I'll remove them.

MKDD; Courses

This is the reason I am getting a Wii.

The courses definitely look better and more complex on MK:Wii.

The character models are a bit rough, but
A) Who cares, you're a bit zoomed out usually,
B) They could very well improve before launch...we still haven't seen much footage,
C) MK isn't about the graphics so much anyway, so even if it's questionable how much the graphics improved...the gameplay is what matters and that seems to be much different, hopefully improved.

Looks like they must be going for lower poly's and generally not pushing the graphics too hard so that it will run smoothly with 12 people racing, with lots of action going on.

This game is going to be so much awesome. So what kind of Mii will you make for Mario Kart? I haven't decided yet.

Yeah, the models aren't a ton better, but they are more complex, cleaner, and otherwise, I don't care...I just wanna race. I play MK64 more than DD anyway.

I just saw this in GoNintendo. I am so happy about all of the online features. I was thinking of getting this next year, but I don't think I can wait that long.

Notice the wall in MkWii? It goes straight all the way down. That doesn't look promising.

Anyway, stop the video at 20 sec, look. It looks smoother and softer in the Wii version. And it has dumps in the way. That might be to make people not only go on the far right side...
