No. I have never seen a college student playing a handheld in public. I have seen a lot consoles played.

Nintendo said the Wii U is 3D capable and that 3rd party Devs can make 3D games for the Wii U excluding Launch titles. Nintendo also said they will make 1st party Wii U games 3D capable if the ownership of how many people who own a 3D TV increases by at least 37%.

Things change.

As of a month or two ago when I checked, the Wii U was not 3D capable.
