Forums - Microsoft - Did Microsoft Put Secret Sauce in Xbox One? DX12 May Allow Xbox One To Save GPU Time, Render Ray Tracing, SuperFog And Custom Effects

Microsoft were worried if they gave sony a headstart in console war they would win easily. Ms original plan was to release xbox one on 2014 because we all know dead rising 3 was a game developed for x360 and ported to xone. Ryse is another example. Xbox one could have been one of the best system in gaming history it is already but could have been better if released in 2014. They could have added more ram or a better gpu, cpu. Moreover games like forza would have launched with more content, halo 2 would be a launch title, sunset, quantum, killer instinct full package, zoo tycoon more content. I mean xbox could break all records within a day but ms was afraid of sony if they launch it earlier they would win so they were forced to launch it in 2013. Sony arrrr. F**K you

So if you have good weather and a good sauce, what do you get?

Why do you guys come to a thread when you cannot simply add to it or talk about it. What is the reason do u love so much to troll xbox

Don't think it will improve much. Both X1 and PS4 are already using a low level API that is superior to (PC)DirectX.
And MS aren't the only ones that are improving the feature set of their API.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Of course the APIs and drivers will improve, thats the same for any hardware, but no there is no such thing as secret sauce. The hardware is what it is.

@xenostar @vivster api's and drivers are going to improve but if you bing it or google it you can see a decent amount of difference between directx 11 and 10 amd mantle improved the perfomance by huge means 30-35% so directx can. Their are many things ms has to answer about.

But of course 50% hardware difference is almost nothing so 30% software differnce is minute :P

But won't the PS4 be using Direct X 12 too?! It is meant to be a new standard that everyone uses. I could be wrong but I think the PS4 is using Direct X now 11 right now. What other option is there? Open GL?
