Miiverse posts for accomplishments, in game epic screenshots, and expression of thought is all I need and want. I don't want to be pressured and tempted to do things that take me 100,764 times before I succeed just so I can beat someone elses achievement. It's fun to do sometimes (like with Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze which is TOTALLY a game for the hardcore) but with most Nintendo games I would feel more stressed about them then.

Trophies are a good extra for most games. It wouldn't be bad if Nintendo had a similar system to Ms and Sony. Not everyone cares about trophies, but they could be there for who want them.

They probably should since it would be completely on the gamer if they want to play for the achievements or not. You can completely ignore them if you abhor them that much. But for a lot of gamers nowadays—or at least the ones I meet—achievements add replayability—pretty sure that's not a word—and difficulty. I see no reason why they shouldn't. It won't affect you unless you want it to.

Even though I hate achievements and would rather they didn't exist, or at the very least that you could turn them off in games, I think Nintendo should definitely add a trophy system. It has become a part as integral as online and media playback in modern consoles and is yet more proof that Nintendo more or less refuse to follow market movements that they haven't instigated themselves.

Because we are at the point where people can't play a game without earing some kind of silly bragging-right i sadly have to say yes, Nintendo should add something like that

Yes, I want a trophy/achievement system. I want this feature so that it saves all my accomplishments, even if I lose my save file. The achievements will live on forever on my account, and will pass on to different consoles in the future. It will let me and other people know that I've played the game and beaten a game in its entirety. Plus, it is more replay value after beating a game for its story.

I don't really like Trophy systems...they are done badly way more often than not.

However, I would be interested to see what Nintendo would do with it...I think that what they should do is stuff like what steam does every once in a while where you have to do a certain thing in a certain game and you get a little card or something and a discount on something else.

That would be interesting and promote sales.

Achievement systems are boring but challenges can be interesting and fun and help with game sales (especially with digital titles)

They should combine trophies with stamps.

A first step could be a list of all unlocked stamps on the Miiverse profile page that others can see. Or a page that summarizes all posts with the accomplishment tag.

Deus Ex has some automated achievement posts on Miiverse.

It's not as good as a real trophy system, but it already has some simple things that can be improved in the future.

I don't like trophies/achievements for the same reason I don't like micro-transactions. Those things start influencing game design which should be solely focused on either challenging or entertaining the player.

That said, I think Nintendo should go ahead and implement centralized trophy/achievement type system so that 3rd party port games can have better parity. I also like the social and historical appreciation value of trophies between friends.

I would want use of trophies or not to remain optional and up to each individual game rather than being a required thing to publish on that system. The reason I say this is I really do believe that trophy type things can harm certain games by either making the trophy "goal" too grindy or by declaring to the player they need to move on too early by showing 100% complete long before gamer is done having fun playing that game.

I would like them to add one too! But I disagree that it gives a better sense of community. I think miiverse already does a great job at that. I also don't need the achievements/trophies for replay value as I replay most of my games anyway. But there is no denying that it indeed does add a bit of replay value to some games.
