Forums - Gaming - How will 2D games work with VR?

Imagine Nintendo's successor to the Wii U was the Wii VR. What would they do with 2D Mario?

Or how would Ubisoft support VR in Rayman if occulus takes off?

Would they just make the game appear on a giant virtual TV, or is there a more innovative solution?

I don't think they will do VR cause wearing the thing is too much of a pain for most consumer as well as the whole motion sickness and liability factor thing

Provided its like Oculus Rift that is

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

They wouldn't do that, but I think they would only use the VR for small things like "Puzzles".

Maybe those games will not support VR, and you play them in the traditional way.

You tilt your head left, right to move, look up to jump, down to duck, head butt to attack. Screen always stays in front of you. Comes with a free trial for your local chiropractor.

I would buy occulus to play ocarina of time if they made the full game for it.

I read rumors of sony possibly demonstrating some vr headsets for ps4, I hope they are like occulus or better.

Look at this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7n5kRRHDpw

Im guessing VR visors would just replicate the screen, but with added control if the game needs it from the helmet's accelerometers or w/e

Virtual reality just means (for vision) that the screen is a millimeter away from you. 2D games will be just fine, VR will just change nothing to the way it's play now. Which is good.

Edit : BTW occulus rift is no VR. Occulus rift is SHS (Sight and hearing simulator). This being VR would mean reality is just experienced trough hearing and sight.

Couldn't it be like the 3DS? 2D Mario is actually 3D in that game. The player could be surrounded in a 3D world of 2D objects.
