Why do Germany still tries to cover their past? (Assuming that unconstitucional symbol is what I think it is). Why can't they just, move on? Seriously, this makes no sense.

Britain or Spain did much more damage in previous eras, and no one tries to hide those things from the public. Germans are oversensitive with these things.

They don't try to cover the past, they try to make it difficult to be glorified.

Even if the depiction of the symbols are to be mocked and not glorified? It's South Park what we're talking about here.

Isn't worth it anyway. I'll import it.

Why? It's simple. Whenever a German is, in whatever crazy, senseless way, connected to something that was 1930-1945, he/she is a pure nazi, a typical German, a total Hitler-supporter and most likely Hitler is still alive and reigning in Germany!! And it's the worst thing that ever happened on this planet and in no way comparable to what other countries did (or do)!!!

That is how the world is turning. This country is probably one of the most open ones (nationalities, skin colors, gays, whatever) but when that topic comes up it's rammed into the ground by hypocritical comments from the outside who don't know shit about Germany/EU and still live in the past century while ignoring what's wrong in their own country.

I am sure there are ways to get it acnowledged as artistic expression, but that would be up to the makers of the game to take care of that before they try to release the game.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I think that the swastikas could actually go through considering the context (swastikas often appear in other satirical contexts in media or in art here in Germany). Ubisoft is just playing it safe. And I can understand them. Distribution of unconstitutional symbols can also be considered a felony, albeit being unlikely in a case like this.
The most likely scenario would be that the game is put on the so called index, meaning that the game cannot be advertised and not be bought by minors. I'm hoping that at some point a studio actually has the balls to go to court with such a case, with there not being any landmark court decision on swastikas in games yet.

Wow, no wonder my pre order didnt get delivered today.

This country man, this fucking country...Holy shit. Whats really pathetic is that they are absolutely no different today than when they were during WW2 when it comes to their censoring policy. Fucking politically correct imbeciles, i hate the left wing and their bullshit agenda so much here.

I feel for you. Do you live anywhere near the Dutch-Belgian border? I don't think there's any censoring here.

I live kinda near the dutch border (Nordrhein Westfallen region) and censorship is insane here. Its probably the most left wing oriented part of Germany, it is absolutely mind boggling.

For a country that prides itself in being so liberal and open minded, they sure treat their people like morons ready to be brain washed at the first sight of swastika
