I'll also add thats a lower resolution than Titanfall on Xbox One so hopefully that ends those complaints being thrown at the game.

When did they confirm the resolution for titanfall? Last i heard it was just over 720?

the Beta ran at 1408 x 792 which is 1,115,136 pixels.

KZ multiplayer is 960 x 1080 which is 1,036,800.

So even if Titanfall doesn't go higher than its Beta it already has a higher resolution. The rumor is the final build is higher than the Beta. Regardless in terms of resolution it outperforms Killzone.

This isn't meant to be an attack on Killzone but I'm simply saying hopefully it puts an end to some of the drive by comments I've seen in regard to Titanfall.

Not a big difference there, but where the difference lies is everything else is superior is shadowfall.  But i doubt it will stop. Not that it matters as titainfall is going game play above all else.

Agreed.

It won't until news spreads and sub par 1080 is all of a sudden "ok" again. Much like the "development choices" for The Order, which even though it isn't full HD, looks fucking amazing.

To be fair, and you know this is true, the Xbox fanbase in general was insistent that 1080p and 60fps was going to be common on X1 and even for a time gloated when it appeared the X1 had more games running at a higher resolution. We know this isn't the case now and "suddenly" it became acceptable. I mean that in a matter of fact way. Not a fanboy dick measuring contest way.

It will be common.... We're 3 months in ffs.... For both consoles.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Some optimization will occur but it won't be enough to make up for the hardware. Neither console is packing serious heat overall. The only way big budget games on these consoles are going to commonly achieve 1080p at 60fps is if the developers seriously hold back on the graphical effects. You may have one year where these games were releasing consistently at that resolution and framerate and not sacrificing much.

That kind of a trade-off is not worth it, in my opinion. That's a ridiculous drop that I find inexcusable.

No, not likely. This generation of hardware wil have far less optimization than last gen considering X1 and PS4 are more similar to PC than any prior generation ever. A big part of that being x86 architecture.

To be honest 1080p, 60 fps will be pretty rare unless developers cut back on effects, textures, lighting, etc.  There will still be beautiful games but I don't forsee 1080p 60fps becoming the norm.

Xbox One and PS4 both have pretty weak GPUs.

60fps will NEVER be the norm for consoles. I remember people saying that the 6th gen would be 60fps standard in the late 90s, and the same before the 7th gen.

Most devs will always choose to go with more detail at 30fps.

Hang on, I'll give him a text. I'm sure it's nothing special as it was made from scraps essentially. He says it's more powerful than both consoles though, quite handily. Paid nothing for it.

Yeah I see most games being either 1080p or 60 fps or at least close to either.  I don't see many games hitting both those at the same time though. Some will for sure but graphics and new engines are only going to have higher and higher performance costs and frankly both GPUs arent strong enough to consistantly hit both with top end graphics.
