Forums - Gaming - Killzone ShadowFall Multiplayer runs at only 960 x 1080 resolution

They have to really really really love those games to spend so much money for only 2 exclusive games.

But back on subject, most of them bought their next gen simply based on the availability because they wanted a next gen at all cost.

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

And on the promise of future exclusives.

i bought my xbox one first over ps4 because of its exclusives  like ryse dr3, killer instinct, forza, . ended topping it up and getting powershot golf, crimson dragon ,AC4 (not exclusive) . Bought al the above games lol.  PS4 purchase was bought because teh budget i set for xbox one ,, was too high and i had alot left ,, so didn;t want to leave my remainder of my budget lying there lol. What caught my eye initially for xbox one was RYSE. that got my attention first.

Or a constant supply of third party games.

So, I read the technical details on GAF and it's still 1920x1080p.

No, not likely. This generation of hardware wil have far less optimization than last gen considering X1 and PS4 are more similar to PC than any prior generation ever. A big part of that being x86 architecture.

To be honest 1080p, 60 fps will be pretty rare unless developers cut back on effects, textures, lighting, etc.  There will still be beautiful games but I don't forsee 1080p 60fps becoming the norm.

Xbox One and PS4 both have pretty weak GPUs.

Lucky my brother finished my PC then!

At this rate, Brand new PC builds in less than two years from now. Will be considerably more powerful than the consoles and cheaper than $500/£430

Doesn't matter when you can't play the Sony exclusives on PC.

Ouch, you mean not all games on this gen are perfect?!!

Everyone seems to think that next year the games will be "optimized" better and that the 1080/60 will be the norm. Developers have to make cutbacks on games released for the PC. You don't think that they are doing many more cutbacks for the puny game consoles?

The only benefit developers have for the consoles, is that they can work with the fixed hardware of a console and get the most out of that particular configuration. If that means they dump a bunch of the effects or whatever, they will.

It is near the end of the end....

The thread specifically refers to the online mode.

Since I never bothered to play online, I felt obligated to play a quick round after playing campaign mode and it looks noticeably different, indicating there is some sort of pixel interpolation or scanning going on.

Wouldn't have noticed otherwise since I generally only play single player mode for these games.

I know it's for online.

And, of course you would notice since you already know that they are different. As are all MP games - single player always look better than MP.

If it's any consolation, it would have looked worse and played choppier on the XB1.

i don't know titanfall multiplayer plays at ahigher res then killzone mp an dholds 60fps moer often then kz lol. BF multiplayer is also quite good for xbox one. i think its slightly hgher res ? Correct me if i am wrong with that one :)

Pretty sure Battlefield is lower on the XB1. That's the first time I've heard anyone say anything contrary to that.

And Titanfall would play better on the PS4. This has nothing to do with the brands or the companies, the PS4 simply has a better GPU and faster memory.

Irrelevant.  Why did Sony lie about Killzone MP?

Relevant. We will continue to see the same games run better on the PS4.

I didn't read anything about the difference in resolution between online and single player modes, so I won't bother commenting on what Sony said, even though GG, not Sony developed the game. Yes, I can tell the difference having just played both modes back to back.

And 1080 progressively scanned lines of resolution is by definition 1080p, regardless of horizontal resolution.

No, I'm not going to get into a debate over this. Yes, it's not 1920x1080 resolution.
