.................., good, def not better.  DKC original is better than the new for example.  Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark, Kameo, Viva Pinata, Killer Instinct, Jet Force Gemini, Conker, Blast Corps, Goldeneye, Battletoads are some that theyve done.

Retro has metroid and  the new DKC.  Come back when they have more than two franchises.

You said you can't replace rare, i disagree, Retro has replaced Rare, the Metroid Prime Trilogy is an absolute masterpiece, And the new DK is fantastic ive not been able to put it down, im literally addicted to that game.

The new DK is good, but still lacks the diversity that rare had.   Im not saying Retro is bad, but they dont have near the same impact as what rare had on Nintendo in the 90s.  Rare has made more games, games that still holds up today as being some of the best of all time.  They were making 3D platforming, 3rd person shooters, first person shooters, fighting games, racing games, 2d platformers, beat m up, and adventure games.  They extended that into action/adventure, simulators, and party games with Xbox.

Rare has a huge list of ip's and multiple of those ip's not only had an impact on nintendo but also had an impact on the industry.  Retro has a long way to go before they will be compared to what Rare did for nintendo, not to mention the diversity rare has

I hope its a new ip xD  Theyre an excelent studio and i would love to see them and nintendo support a new ip

And.... this is why Wii U is so far unlikely to outsell the GC. GC was much more relevant at this point in time.

My 8th gen collection

A different take on the situation...do you think that a lot of Wii U owners are shunning mainstream 3rd party efforts in favour of indie titles? i mean the console is well supported in that dept and there are quite a few platform games on the Eshop which is the most successful genre on Nintendo consoles. Im actually surprised how many Wii U (and 3DS) owners buy digital.

With that old chestnut that graphics dont matter to Nintendo fans, i could actually see a some Wii U owners purchasing 2 or 3 interesting looking indie titles instead of games like COD or Asassins Creed. Us Nintendo gamers are a strange breed.

That's sad...
