As the last poster said, it has been sinking for a long time. But the way they do the franchise (each new game usually set in a new world, new mechanics) it has the oppertunity to swim, they could totaly recover with the next installment. But if XV turns out bad, I dont want to think about where Square will go :(

I'm surprised at the result (11 swim vs. 1 sink). I too think it should swim, though. The series has so much potential that it would be a shame if it sank. I just wish Square Enix would realize what makes (or rather, made) the series good.
I have to admit, im amazed at the result too! I thought this one would sink. But as I said, the way they handle the franchise as a whole, it always has the potential to swim

Interesting to see how many people want to see it continue even though they hated FFXIII.
Probably because they know the potential of changing every iteration.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
Don't need FFXV to save Final Fantasy. FFXIV is saving it already.

SE cited FFXIV specifically in their financial report for their financial success.
It has exceeded Square-Enix's expectations, and the company now expects to make a 4.7bn yen operating profit for the period.
