Forums - Gaming - Over 90% of gamers do NOT own a ‘next-gen’ console

Conclusion

Console gaming is undeniably losing a lot of market share to other gaming mediums. Surprisingly, only Microsofts Xbox One had the biggest launch in their personal console history. As the console market is shrinking the public may decide that 3 is a crowd and Nintendo looks the most frail at the minute. What would make YOU buy a next-gen console? and which side are you leaning towards?

What is that supposed to mean? PS4 crushed PS2 launch numbers globally and beat them in all major markets but Japan.

Also this "it's just started" thinking is bogus. There is tons of time for anything to happen, but you have to look at the odds of it actually happening. It's very unlikely that the Wii U will make a turn around and match PS4 sales. Same goes for XBONE.

I love how statistics always try and paint a picture that those 260 million or whatever number is UNIQUE consumers.

Like 150 UNIQUE people owned a PS2. You know completely ignoring the fact that I and many other bought the PS2 and its different versions 5 times or more

Or the fact that I and many other own a 360, ps3 and Wii.

But no, lets make some random prediction or statement by having the total # be all UNIQUE consumers and no duplicates at all.

This! Seriously, this.

I was about to say the exact same thing. Almost word for word. This guy's logic is just flawless. No one's ever owned multiple consoles, no one bought the same console for the second time even when it broke. Hard not to lose faith in humanity.

Let's go back to February of 2007 and see how many people owned next gen consoles.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

5 times? Really?

Ok, that was a slight exaggeration, hence the "almost" part.

Between broken ps2's.  Slim ps2, ps2 different room, ect.  Easy to have 5 of them.
