That's one way to see it.
From my perspective when the wii U launched.
Non nintendo guys: "It's selling horrible compared to the wii!"
Nintendo guys: "Wii was the fastest selling system ever. Compared to ps360 wii u is great"
Once Wii U really did start selling bad.
Nintendo guys: "Well at least it isn't as bad as Vita"
Sony guys: "Actually launched aligned and weekly Vita is ahead. We do agree that Vita is doomed though"
While 3DS is outselling PS4.
Nintendo guys: "3DS is dominating PS4. Nintendo is still winning the gen"
Sony guys: "PS4 is still limited by stock. Also 3DS is $130. Of course it's winning" (people saying this price thing were just being flat out silly)
Now.
Sony guys: "It's the return of the king. PS4 and 3DS really don't compare but now that we're winning we'll be sure to let Nintendo fans know"
Nintendo guys: "The whole console industry is doomed! Handhelds are forever though"
WW: I expected Wii U to resist more before giving up first place. I both wished PS4 to sell even more,and XBOne and Wii U to be much stronger competitors. I still hope this gen to be huge, bigger than last one, but even so strong, PS4 cannoot achieve it alone, the industry needs all the competitors to be strong, not just PS4 and 3DS, that deserve their respective markets leadership, but also XBOne, Wii U and PSV.
Japan: as it looks like PS4 was supply constrained, impressive result, but we'll know for sure in the next weeks and months.
SW: Knack is making its haters sad pandas.

It's impossible, but can you imagine Infamous outselling Titanfall? lol I would load this site and Neogaf and just get popcorn and wait...
