rayman on wii u is legging slightly better than ps3. AC4 is at a medium of 4k (not 2) per week and should raise depending on hardware sales and holidays boost.

those games are each showing signs of selling hundreds of thousands well after their release, some will double or triple their ltd sales if they keep the pace. that IS called legs.

4k per week is showing signs of selling hundreds of thousands? Okay Zero.

I can't see wich part of this basic multiplication is confusing.

Well let's do the math then. 4k per week would add up to 16k per month. If AC4 stays at this level of sales for the rest of the year then it will achieve 192k in sales. Of course it won't stay at that level because it will go consistently go down in sales. It was 6k at the start of the year, now it's at an average of 4k. That's just in two months. If it stays at that pace then it will average 2k in April, 1k in June, and so on and so forth. No way is this selling hundreds of thousands of units this year.

it was at 6k the week that is still considered as 2013. it's getting a consistent 4k a week since then. there are also hardware spikes to consider, as well as holidays.

Not really. Games don't usually triple their first 2 months of sales, ACIV will top out at 200k. Did we ever get 101 shipments???

Ubi are making the right decision with Watchdogs. It's their next 8m+ selling franchise (that's what they're hoping for) they shouldn't be worrying about a sku that is gonna sell 50k - 200k.

Do you mean by releasing it later? That doesn't even make sense. Or is there a double standard for the X1 and PS4 with relation to this? They are probably going to sell similar numbers that you just posted.

I'll agree that many don't triple their first 2 months, although, some have and do.

What double standard? The PS4X1 versions will easily multiply whatever the WiiU version would sell by a factor of at least 5, probably over 10. Them focusing on the versions that will bring them more money isn't a double standard. It's business. Just be happy you're actually getting the port, because financially it makes little sense.

Okay. We have one instance of that so far with one game. I'm not sure we can spread that as a definite accross the board.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

My point stands. AC4 will not stay at an average of 4k per week, games sell less over time. We've seen this happen with literally every video game in existence.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

bolded: 5? maaaaybe. 10? no

and again, this isn't about what it sells on others vs wii u. the point is that they are hindering the wii u sales for nothing. it's not like the other versions will be affected if they wait slightly more to release all versions together. as a BUSINESS, you shouldn't want to piss consumers and get less sales.

Oh spare me your replies with nothing to back you up. I was being generous when I said 5. 10 is probably what we'll be looking at in most cases.

They're not hindering the WiiU version. They're focusing on the other versions, that means they're shifting resources to the versions that they will profit more from. Pure business. Ubisoft doesn't have unlimited staff, and they DO actually care about HOW MUCH they profit, not only IF they profit (however tiny that profit may be).

Agreed, but if that were only the case than they wouldn't be spending much time on the X1 or PS4 versions either. Any way you cut it, it is still a risk.

I agree on the part about showing legs, but not on the part about third party. Its incridible as mario manage to sell +1 mil after 5 week, with a slow start. And I'm ok if the kid friendly games sells well on the plattaform. I really doubt that anyone that buy nintendo products cares about the looks of the games.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

wii u hardware sales increasing will also increase the software.

Checking the database I found some of these:

http://www.vgchartz.com/game/72209/the-wonderful-101/Global/

http://www.vgchartz.com/game/71748/assassins-creed-iv-black-flag/Global/

http://www.vgchartz.com/game/70792/rayman-legends/Global/

The wonderfull 101, AC4 and rayman have sold 25k, 24k and 22k respectively, so far in 2014. that's interesting because if they keep those weekly numbers and have spikes along Wii U's hardware spikes after big releases and holidays, we should be seing rayman over 500k ltd, AC4 and TW101 over 400k ltd by 2014 end.

aside from TW101, those are great figures for third party games. It really shows ubisoft is making a mistake with watch dogs delay on wii u, since it already has more preorders in US than AC4 US launch for wii u.

There are many other good performers. MH3 is on it's way to cross 600k ltd, lego city and pikmin3 should top 1kk, zombi U can top 800k, wind waker could top 1,4kk. just dance 2014 and skylanders swap force already passed their predecessors and could both cross the 400k mark. even Batman AO, wich is slower, should pass it's predecessor and get around 250k at years and.

The biggest surprise is that TW101 may leg out to good numbers in the end, maybe we get a sequel. Your thoughts on the subject?

Those figures are real crap though. The WIiU is the worst selling for AC:BF yet has the most units in peoples homes. If anything, you just proved that it has a huge problem on its hands.

don't feel like arguing trivial shit but I just want to point out that later sales are often sold at a lower price so there's less profit coming in

like I bought TW101 for $50 or $60 IIRC (whatever it was on day one) but now you can find it for like $30... later sales don't weigh as much as sales in the first month or so

Did anyone keep track of what the numbers for these games were prior to the January NPD?  Have they been adjusted down at all?  When we are talking about games selling just a few thousand per week, I have to imagine Wii U numbers going from 21.5k per week in the US to 12.25k per week for the month of January had an impact.  Especially when W101 and AC4 are getting the majority of their sales from the US.

You can't seriously think the PS4/XBO versions of Watch Dogs are going to sell similar to 50-200k lifetime.  I even think Seece is undershooting the Wii U with the 50k range.

I hope not. I hope it sells much better, but it has already taken quite a delay. The pre-orders aren't that significant. But I was talking about the entire range stated.

I myself was quite excited about Watchdogs and was planning on picking it up day one, but now there are better things on the horizon and the hype has mostly faded. I might still pick it up, but I can guarantee it won't be a day one purchase. On all the X1, PS4 and Wii U there are potentially better games coming that might over shadow it as well. Second Son, Titanfall, Mario Kart 8.
