I'm buying a new one so..

1. What should I get?

2. Should I get IPS? The guy in the store is bugging me about it, saying it's the best etc.

3. What is the best I can get for $300?

It depends on your needs. IPS monitors will have better colours and better viewing angles (it you look at it from one side, you will still see the pic with the same colours), but of course it's a bit more expensive than TN panels.

Personally, I'd go with an IPS one.

And in the price range of $300 or £180 (your profile says you're from the UK) you should be able to pick a 24" one like (and I read that you've already gone to a store, I just put them from overclockers to give you an idea) the

Those 2 cost a bit more but are 1920x1200, in case you want the extra pixels of the 16:10 aspect ratio.

It's a tuff choice. I'm in the process of buying a moniter myself and I just can't decide so I'm postponing the purchase constantly.

IF you do any competitive FPS gaming I would recommend you get a 120 hz or 144 hz monitor. The one by Asus preferably .

When I was looking for a new Monitor, I spend weeks narrowing the options to just a handful of suspects and then another few more days looking for reviews, user opinions (I recommend the Display forum in HardForum), etc. and then looking for the best prices for them until I decided for my current one (it was on a sale, and that helps a lot ).

Hopefully, I won't have to replace it in 2 or 3 more years, minimum.

Are you still happy with your choice? (what was it again, a 27 inch Dell IPS?) You've played a lot of Darksiders 2 lately right?

ASUS PB248Q. You won't be sorry to have spent that kind of money on this monster.

It's a 23" one, the U2311H, but yes it's IPS and from Dell. Between 22 and 24" is where my comfort zone is, less than that and it's too small and more than that is too big for my taste. That's why I'm looking to know more about Dell's 24" 4K IPS monitor.

And yes, I've been playing Darksiders 2 these last days. Fun game like the first one.
