Titanfall might be getting a resolution boost on the Xbox One shortly after its launch on March 11.

A Titanfall community member going by the name “DucatiRossi46″ who works “closely with Respawn and EA” has allegedly been told by the studio that “they are aiming for 1080p at launch following the Xbox One patches“.

According to him, “there will be 2 patches pre-release, which should get it to 1080p following the Xbox One patches.”

Similarly, an Epic Games employee said on Reddit, ”I can tell you Titanfall has gone gold and the final resolution is most def above 720p. That’s all I can say.”

Last we heard, Respawn Entertainment was aiming for 900p at launch after confirming that the beta ran at a 792p resolution. We also recently learned thatTitanfall will be a 40 GB install on the Xbox One.

Take the news with a grain of salt for now, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated on any official announcements.

I'd bet against that considering it had framerate issues at 792p.

That was in a beta which of course can be optimized, but fixing framerate to a locked 60 and doubling the resolution just isn't happening in three weeks.

God, i hope not :/ The frame rate would take a real slap to the face if true.

As long as the framerate stays at 60, I'm fine with it. Might actually get the X1 bundle.

So how thrustworthy is this guy? That would be one helluva upgrade, I hope it keeps smooth.

About the employee. A lot more reasonable and obvious... No chance in hell it would be less than 720p. But I would bet more on 792p than on 900p now, otherwise he would be more positive... And if 792p had fps issues a higher pixel patch seems unlikely. And we were told by some it looks gorgeous and they don't play pixels, so it's useless news. Just pick the bundle and have loads of fun.

But..but...but...CBOAT told us it was being downgraded to 720p!!!! My universe is about to collapse!
