Does this mean Titanfall is an exclusive?

i highly doubt i'll be updating this thread or anything,..  but once released yes!   this just shows things as they are RIGHT NOW!

That list is on-paper.

Dead Rising 3/Forza 5 > Killzone Shadow Fall (made less desirable with BF4 and COD)
Ryse > Knack
Plants VS Zombies Garden Warfare timed exclusive
Titanfall > Infamous

That is the simplified list that non PS centric fans are using.

Most  dont care for such lists. At the moment Sony has certainly a wider breadth of games and that reaches a bigger audience. In terms of what is better than others, totally subjective... I wouldnt mind playing DR3, but it's not a big enough pull over what I have to get me to buy another console.. many users need real big games to convince them to buy a 2nd console. Would seeing a comparison of Ryse vs Knack make me want a XBO.. no... especially if i didnt care for either game...

I know a number of people in the office who were primarily Xbox last gen, one or two of them had a PS3 for Uncharted (on the whole their PS3's would get dusty as they would like to tell me), but this time around most of them are PS4 users and they dont really care about the comparisson lists. They are a strange bunch, they dont bother looking at exclusives on the whole (unless its something they are truely interested in).. they just get whatever comes out on the console... and they certainly dont spend any time on internet gaming forums looking at lists :) At least 3 of the people in the office had never played a Killzone before.  I have to admit before owning a PS3 (at least two years in), I had never played God of War, KZ or GT games before... I think there are many more gamers who are like that. They buy a console and then just experience whatever is on it. They dont necessarily have a plan and dont compare like for like.

This group of gamers is bigger than most people take granted for. They are very difficult to understand their buying habbits... I dont think they by boatloads of games, but may by 3-4 titles a year.

As for Non PS Centric fans... well looking at the sales, wouldnt you say that many non PS centric fans are not using that list based on the Current XBO sales...and if we consider many initial sales are from the fans of each console wouldnt that mean that non PS centric fans are not turning to the XBO because of its current games? In fact would love to know what a non centric PS fan is. I'll think you might be surprised to find out that some PS4 sales are from 360 owners.

Again, those just aren't system sellers in their own right. Great games, I am not denying that. I have not seen any PS fan online or in real life cite those games as absolutely must-have reasons to buy a PS4. In the end, it comes down to the big name exclusives or in Titanfalls case, multiplats not available on the competition.

Price, public perception, and brand carried over from PS3s last years are its biggest asset. Games (as of now), not so much.

That said, PS4 will have (and has now) amazing games. But as of now X1 has more big name variety/buzz.

I don't think that Ryse or Plants vs Zombies are system sellers either.  I also don't think that Dear Rising and Forza swayed any significant number of people away from a PS4 either.

The games are available now are good but not great, so I agree that these are not an asset to either platform.

I think price and value are the biggest reasons the PS4 is doing so well.  The "Most Games" and "Most Exclusives" comments don't mean much at this point.

The XBOne is selling well, so I would argue that it's perception and brand have also carried over from the last generation.

Personally, I think neither one is worth buying right now. But hey, early adopters are what they are. Games for both sides leave more to be desired, and thanks, I do belive its all brand power and early adopting crazes that is driving sales mostly at this point.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

that's your opinion.

mine is:

driveclub > forza 5
ryse and knack both look like shit
infamous >>> titanfall
killzone about equal to deadrising 3
contrast, resogun, don't starve, outlast >>>>>> xbone's complete lack of indies
1080p > 720p

...on paper, things look a lot more in favor of xbone than in reality if you ask me.

Drive club isn't out yet....were talking about right now aren't we?

Ryse earns points for its story and badassery. Knack is forgettable onall fronts.

Offcourse you would say Infamous > Titanfall. But the buzz and reactions from gamers everywhere that don't favour the PS4 above all else, say otherwise.

Killzone is a FPS. BF4 and COD are also high profile FPS. It makes KZ stand out less because of a lack of variety. A zombie slayer and car sim are variety in genre, which sets it apart. These are things a list will not tell you.

And again, I learned that indies are not or never were  system sellers, but bonuses after allready purchasing the console.

good point on driveclub,.. due to the similarities in genre i have a hard not thinking about driveclub when forza is listed.

...which by that point means infamous and titanfall have to be removed for now too.  :P

and i personally love indies.  i don't buy systems for one game, i buy them for libraries of games and things like contrast, resogun, the witness, outlast, don't starve, rime, lily bergamo, transistor, everybodies gone to rapture, octodad all fit into my purchase consideration because i want to play all of those.  yeah sure, destiny looks better than any one of those but the combined weight of them is larger, imo, than a destiny.

i'm just saying,. ps4 has more i want to play now.  it has more i'll want to play later.  :)

Really? Well it is your opinion.

Aren't you super jelly that you can't play Basement Crawl?!?!

That definitely cancels out Titanfall.

I highly doubt people are flocking to PS4 for a bunch of indie titles. They are nice to have once you own the system, but they are not system sellers.

Here is a simple breakdown of why the PS4 is 2 million or whatever ahead:

1. It's $100 cheaper. This is basic common sense.
2. It's available in many many more countries. Isn't the number like 60+ versus 13?

There you go. Much shorter, to the point, and without some silly list wars.

The cost is a massive issue for MS, and I think as you say this should be basic common sense, especially when you add in that the PS4 is more powerful than the XBox. If you just buy mainly core AAA games, then its a massive issue for MS.

I talked about this is my previous post, people seem to misunderstand that many gamers just want a good machine at a good price, they dont give a crap that some people consider Ryse is better than Knack as they will be playing mainly Assassins Creed and COD and the AAA games... while just buying whatever games that take their fancy.. they are not so motivated by what forum dwellers want.

Fun fact: When Xbox One and Kitler first met, Mr. One actually farted inside the elevator. It was a very awkward (and messy) situation, and Kitler didn't forget.

Kitler will never forget.

What's the source supposed to mean?

ps4 is the better option week after week we see consumers agree with that fact

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

You've produced quite the funny thread, kitler. I applaud you for not dirtying Nintendo in this "fight."

Anyhow, the source seemed reputable enough to me. Robots know everything.
