Its an old saying that isnt gospel are you saying theif is correct? ffs. |
Calm down, buddy. I was just joking.

And to drive my point home, I actually counted the meta scores of 360 and PS3 for 70+ games. Yup....all of them, just now.
PS3
90+ = 51
80-89 = 322
70-79 = 418
360
90+ = 53
80-89 = 351
70-79 = 511
All games, DLC that was reviewed......everything. A real, unbiased, library comparison. On paper, 360 is clearly the superior games console, offering more quality games in all 3 review brackets.
Yet in reality, you will be hard pressed to find a group of gamers to back this up. Because it was all about the PS3 in the last few years. Because the all mighty retail AAA exclusive will always trump the quality, low budget, indie game. Always. Again, I learned this lesson from PS fans, not my own.
Gamers don't care for lists, they care for the big name games above all else. Which is why the below is more fitting:
Dead Rising 3/Forza 5 > Killzone Shadow Fall (made less desirable with BF4 and COD)
Ryse > Knack
Plants VS Zombies Garden Warfare timed exclusive
Titanfall > Infamous
It is simple. It is to the point. It removes the clutter of indie games. While amazing games in their own right, I learned from you guys that they are not system sellers, but bonuses to be enjoyed once all ready purchased the console for a big name game.

That list is on-paper. Dead Rising 3/Forza 5 > Killzone Shadow Fall (made less desirable with BF4 and COD) That is the simplified list that non PS centric fans are using. |
that's your opinion.
mine is:
driveclub > forza 5
ryse and knack both look like shit
infamous >>> titanfall
killzone about equal to deadrising 3
contrast, resogun, don't starve, outlast >>>>>> xbone's complete lack of indies
1080p > 720p
...on paper, things look a lot more in favor of xbone than in reality if you ask me.

Well I cant see any reason why you would say that looking at the situation as it stands right now.
This will change of course over time, but as of right now my mask is perfectly placed. My ownership of a 360 and love for Halo alone should be decent at hiding my true self.

Drive club isn't out yet....were talking about right now aren't we?
Ryse earns points for its story and badassery. Knack is forgettable onall fronts.
Offcourse you would say Infamous > Titanfall. But the buzz and reactions from gamers everywhere that don't favour the PS4 above all else, say otherwise.
Killzone is a FPS. BF4 and COD are also high profile FPS. It makes KZ stand out less because of a lack of variety. A zombie slayer and car sim are variety in genre, which sets it apart. These are things a list will not tell you.
And again, I learned that indies are not or never were system sellers, but bonuses after allready purchasing the console.

Yup.
So is Final Fantasy XIV.

Well it isn't xbox one vs ps4 like some people think.
it's MS vs Sony.
look at the trends that started before the consoles released such as ps3 selling more monthly than the 360 after years of loosing.
even now after the big rush, ps3 is outselling the xbox one. Something happened, hell if I know what that is but Sony's fan base........on the video game side of things has grown real fast.
More than most of things like games are being considered, people are buying into Sony. also the price tag difference is a help. The hardcores have mostly made their choice already, now the average consumers are making theirs. and they are being influenced by a number of things. with more people supporting sony, chances are higher if they ask a random gamer for an opinion they well point them in the direction of sony.
Some kids are happy with either and plead for either console. the buyer has no preference in those cases but what is obvious is a $100 saving.
I doubt most people even hardcores can look at a system and accurately call off the number of games available for it or exclusives.
This list has very little influence on a purchase. There just games, the library will grow on both sides but names of available games have little value.
If no body hypes plants vs zombies and you never heard about it, seeing it in a list of games won't have any impact on you.
few games are worth mentioning when talking about moving consoles.

How many of those games are yearly sports titles from 2005 and before November 2006 (MLB, Boxing, NBA, NFL, NHL, Nascar, FIFA, etc.) or the likes of GH2 and CoD2 (games with multiplatform releases on 360 just because it came out first)?
You're trying to simplify things that shouldn't be simplified to try and prove a point that isn't there. I mean, is the 360 library really "superior" because of Madden 06? Come on buddy, you can do better than that
