Online gaming is safe only on PC, and even there only for the most part, not competely.

Well isn't that eletist. Im all for claiming superiority over casuals like most core gamers do, but this is a type of core gamer we are talking about. Some just like the competitive MP. They are really good at them, so they are hardly beneath gamers who like more well-rounded experiences. And developers recognize that, so why waste resources making a campiagn they won't play. Cater to what they like and who you are appealing to.

The majority of my friend list is playing now an online game BF4/FFXIV beta =p. Almost all of them are from Vgchartz so yeah it looks like they don't mind that much =p.

I'm not worried about servers shutting down, but I do agree with you that there should be some single player in games.

If Titanfall had a single player, I would have pre-ordered it by now. However $60 for an online only game.... :-/

I think it's a good thing. Now if they would just release games that are offline only I would be happy.

It's simple. Paying a monthly subscription can make the servers to be kept forever. Paying only once for the game, 1 year is assured, subsequent years can be seen as a bonus.

Your personal tastes in games doesn't dictate what is good or bad for gamers. There are a huge amount of gamers who only care about online multiplayer. If there wasn't, this thread wouldn't even exist. Who are you to tell them their preference is bad for them.

And on expiring servers, if they're really online only gamers, they probably own more than one online game, and won't be too devastated when one of the servers is pulled.

I would much rather pay $60 for a game that is online only and delivers thousands of hours of multiplayer joy than for a single player game that will last me on average 8-20 hours, and in extreme, rare circumstances, up to 80 hours.

I can guarantee I've gotten more value out of League of Legends, WoW, Halo 3 multiplayer, Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 multiplayer, etc over the past 15 years than anyone has ever gotten out of a single player game.

In fact, for me online multiplayer is the best part of any game. I often just jump right into online games and skip the single player campaigns altogether.

I'm not the type of gamer that goes back and plays old games either. To each their own, though.

Well said. I know allot of my friends that are like you. They have never even toughed the singleplayer portion of COD. I'm more of the type of gamer that plays older games over and over. 

If I could ever find a copy of Zombies Ate My Neighbors again............
