All that spending is the reason why I'm saying they won't leave this generation but next generation.  It's called a "sunk cost", meaning they've already spent the money on this generation, so they have to see it through.  Next generation however is still up in the air, and with the losses they will almost certainly see, there's no way I can see them sticking around another generation.  

As much as I dislike Sony, the playstation brand is their best division.  They only lost so much money before because they made the last generation about graphics and high end machinery.   They probably would have at least tied the Wii last gen if not beaten it if they put a more reasonable machine on the market.  They never really lost their fanbase, they are still the most popular brand of game system.  

Let me put it this way, Sony is the one company that can't leave.  Nintendo and Microsoft both have strong arguments for leaving, but anyone knowledgable on this can tell you, Sony is the one that is in it for the long haul.

I didn't think halo 4 was the worst of the series. It had the best single-player but ya the multiplayer could have been better. Anyway we will see with halo 2 AE this year. If it can sell 5 million than halo is not burned out.

All this xbox is dead stuff is really annoying. It's 500 bucks right now, with no games since launch. If it was 400 it would be doing fine. And with titanfall, plants vs zombies, and project spark, then sunset overdrive, QB, halo, and forza it will do fine this year

Right.... Because we've seen so much footage. Hours upon hours. Not just a teaser.

This. For a $500 console that had the most negativity surrounding it since the PS3 in 2006 and launching head to head with the PS4 the sales have been great (much better than PS3 was at the same point in time).

It is almost depressing to listen to anti-Xbox people on the internet. Yes we know Microsoft screwed up before launch. Its time for people to get over it. Mattrick is not even their anymore and he seems to have been responsible for the things people hated. They fixed most of their mistakes and have a great lineup of games on the way. 

Exactly, so much anti xbox stuff it's annoying. If x1 is still 500 bucks by the end of the year then ya it will probably only sell 6-7 million this year. But with if it was 400 right now it would sell 10 million plus. And I forgot to mention that it still has a bunch of countries to release in.

If it drops to US$400 will people (that don´t want the console) stop whinning?
