Forums - Sales - After Japans first week sales,, will PS4 be over Wii U globally?- needs about 400,000 it seems

As long as someone other than Xbox stays at the top, I don't care.

No preorder numbers. No real hype. No signs of massive lines outside stores.

I think the JP launch is gonna be really underwhelming.

Final Fantasy XV, Tales of, Phantom Pain and Yakuza 6 will help PS4 sales.

Shipments: no (they were at 5,86 by December 31 according to Nintendo)
Sold to customers: yes

It is of course an inevitability eventually, I think PS4 may just fall a tiny bit short this week. I really can't properly make up my mind, but given how Wind Waker HD moved a significant number of consoles (albeit with big bundurus) I think DK might just keep it ahead for one week more, but it'll be very close (enough to argue for a statistical tie given that at the end of the day, all sellthrough figures are estimates)

Well it will either be over it or very very close, unless we are grossly overestimating PS4's potential in Japan.

Kinda wonder what this forum will talk about after PS4 overtakes the Wii U. Maybe we will talk about games haha. Nah that is crazy talk.

When will (if ever) will XB1 pass the WiiU ;)

well, 2.2M / 8k = 275 weeks or 5.3 years.

it should take a while..

So very soon PS4 will be first place for good this generation :( . Well that makes it kinda boring, Oh well, the fight for 2nd place between X1 and WiiU could be fun.

Do you think a drastic X1 price cut could not turn this around? Plus remember....PS3 made a remarkable late game comeback. Not first...but still good!

Well of course a price cut could turn it around, but would MS be willing to lose billions to gain marketshare or drop the kinect completely making that device almost obsolete?
