Forums - Sony - SONY fans. Should we be worried about shovelware on the PS4?

Tagged games:

You should never worry about it unless you buy it... The ps3 had tons of quality games so you guys shouldnt be worried... Just sit back, relax and watch the reviews before you buy the games

I'd be worried if there wasn't shovelware.

I hope the PS4 will have shovelware so that I will be able to play masterpieces like this one!

I don't really see that much harm in shovelware. If it was harmful then steam would've been dead years ago.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

PS2 had bucket load of shovelcrap but still has one of the greatest gaming library of all time. I think we're gonna be ok :)

Yeah it will most probably have it's share of shovelware, mostly through the digital self publishing channel. The bigger shovelware like low bugdet movie tie-ins etc is mostly on mobile nowadays and thank god for that.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Generally quantity of shovelware correlates with quantity of sales. So PS4 is going to get it's fair share. It's actually the sign of a healthy software purchasing environment so I wouldn't worry.

The systems with the least amount of shovelware (and so considered more hardcore) tend to have much lower install bases. Vita and Dreamcast being 2 key examples.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Movie games....Who even buys them!

Every generation leader gets shovelware. I wouldn't worry about it. Hell, some say it's a good sign.

Most shovelware died with the Wii and thrives on mobile platforms.

Shovelware has changed.
