PS4 Instantly Skyrockets to First Place on Amazon Best Sellers Chart on Japanese Launch

by Giuseppe Nelva (23 minutes ago) 4

The PS4 has just launched in Japan, but looks like undergoing shipments are already affecting the best sellers charts on the local branch of Amazon, where the camera-less version has just skyrocketed to the first place on the charts.

The bundle with the camera is proving somewhat less popular, climbing up only to 12th place.

While the console seems to be selling like hotcakes, the much bigger installed base of the PS3 seems to be weighing on cross-generation games, with the old-gen version of Yakuza Ishin beating the PS4 version soundly (2nd place against 7th), while the gap between preorders of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is narrower, with the PS3 version inching the PS4 one by one position.

No idea.

It really should have been there before.

Well great early sign now lets see a massive sellout and momentum so we can get more JRPGs.

Now there is something surprising.

It has stronger competition in Rakuten, but it's still a hugely popular website.

Would have been pretty poor if it didn't get to number 1. The real test will be how long/often it stays there.
