Is it guessing with adjustments based on NPD/VGC/Official numbers or do you track them somehow?


To be honest, yes, I do some guessing. But having said that, I do have one other source other than NPD and Vgchartz, but it wouldn't be wise for me to talk about who. :)

You've also yet to explain whos expectations the PS4 is falling short of.

That's wrong but I can see people getting that expression so I should clarify there for moment to say that the PS4 isn't doing good or bad and is instead doing decent although with a slight balance towards the bad side.

It's fallen short of everyone's expectations on this forum seeing as how people are running around screeming undertracked which means that there's alot of panicking or their either damage controlling the situation at hand. 


Well no, that's actually what that means. "doesn't" is a contraction of "does not". "Not" being an auxilery word used to turn a phrase to it's negative. In this case "Good" would be the affected word which in it's negative turns into "bad".

How is the second best January ever (with February likely to follow) "decent although with a slight balance towards that bad"?

Once again, who's numbers are you going off of? Who said it was going to outsell the Wii in January and February? Please, let me know. VGchartz has also been consisently undertracking the PS4 so why would it change all of a sudden?

No it doesn't. This isn't binary. There are THREE states. 

Nobody was expecting it to outsell the WII for january and february but everyone was expecting it to be comparable and the PS4 has fallen short of it. BTW the undertracking hasn't being all that huge.

No but that was back then when Sony had no following with the PS1 and there were supply issues with the PS2 while both were riding on GOOD macroeconomic trends but this time it's hard to sell a $400 console in this day and age. 

Looking at stock levels it doesn't seem hard to sell the PS4 at all. Seriously you need to stop comparing it to the Wii and then drawing conclusions from that, neither the PS1 nor PS2 sold as well as the Wii at the beginning, but they both outsold it because they managed to sell for a longer time, the same goes for the PS4, it is absolutely not necessary for it to reach weekly sales of the Wiis first year right now.

I think those are the adjustments just done today, the 3DS was adjusted down last week.

I dont think PS4 sold that low and 3DS just stays flat, might need adjustments again. Demand isnt decreasing and neither stock is getting worse.

ohhh realllly??? :0 I would of never guess that You think FFXV is a good approach (gameplay)? It looks interesting. Im definitely getting a ps4 something next year and KH3 is one of my most anticipated games (i like FF too but i skipped the last main ones unfortunately)
