I honestly couldn't make it an hour in the Titanfall beta, so I'm thinking no. The Titanfall sales will be heavily front loaded (like most over-hyped games) and will fizzle out over the Summer.

MS will throw so much money at Respawn that they will not let it come out on PS ever (see Gears of War)
I think Titanfall will be a sales success, but i'm not expecting like 3m+ sold on it. Halo is still a dominator.
Sales on Xbox One will be excellent in comparison to the install base, but in comparison to last gen it will look as if the Xbox One version has performed craply.
People like to forget convenient things like install bases when considering platform sales of software, when it suits them.

Difference is microsoft actually funded and published gears of war. That probably gave them all sorts of contract leverage.
EA funded and published titanfall. I doubt it will remain exclusive.
It certainly could. But I think they are also a bit different.
TitanFall being an always online group game may bring more people to online FPS play. But we have yet to see how much of a story it will have. It will certainly capture the online FPS market. But for how long?
Halo had a great story, and lore. That in itself makes it a rather remarkable experience. There are many that play Halo just for the single campaign. Or the campaign with other people either local or online. Then you also have the online battle play and maps. Halo has more different ways to play for more different kinds of players.
Lol no, Halo is Xbox, and Xbox is Halo. Nothing will make it take a back seat. Especially on a new console.

I'm guessing that their plan is Spring 2014 Titanfall, Summer 2015 Battlefront, and Holiday 2016 Battlefield. That's the way they made it sound anyway, since Battlefront has already been announced for Summer 2015. The only way I can see EA having a Holiday 2014 or Holiday 2015 shooter is if they gave DICE LA or another EA owned developer the Bad Company IP since DICE will likely be too busy the next 3 years with Battlefront, Mirror's Edge 2, and Battlefield 5. I can't see Respawn releasing another Titanfall that fast, it took them 3 years to build the first one. |
That could work. It's certainly better spacing. BF4 sold great though so I'd expect them to keep up the two year gap. Holiday 2015 just makes more sense for me.
Also EA is certainly acting like they want Titanfall to be the next COD. No way will that happen unless the next game comes out sooner rather than later. I guess it'll really just depend on how well the first one does. Maybe they'll make Titanfall 1.5 to fill the gap.
No! Titanfall looks like it is going to be amazing...(I am really excited for the March 11th release).
Halo is one of the primary reasons I own a One. The series is amazing!
