That makes Whatsapp more valuable then either Sony or Nintendo....

Not really. Sony would have costed them probably 100B$+ and Nintendo around 25B$. However, no one would purchase Sony because they have so much debt but they are worth around 100B$.

How would Sony cost them $100bn? Sony's market cap currently is $17.7bn.

I think market cap is only the value of the stock though ... wouldn't they have to assume the debt that Sony has for example?

Um, the debt would just be transferred to the new owner though.

Wow, that's crazy. But remember much of that is stock 15 Billion. But still 4 Billion in cash is worth more than the average modern working, working 110,000 years.

Still it's worth more than Sony or Nintendo. Crazy.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Tell me a funny joke!

What's App made a half billion last year. At the rate it's growing it will be in 10 figure profits within 2 years. Yes, it is worth what they paid.
