Forums - Gaming - Lord of Shadow 2 off to a not so good start - Edge gives it 4 and Game Informer a 6.0. Both complain of modern day and stealth sections

I hated the first one. I'm not even gonna bother with this. Let me know when Konami gives the franchise back to Igarashi.

Who is igarashi? Were they responsible for symphony of the night and the fantastic ds series of games? If so, I agree. The series needs to be re-rebooted.

What do you mean "not a good start"?

First one blew goats for quarters but for some reason it didn't get critically panned.

Considering that this is more of the same from the same dev, it getting bad reviews is an awesome start in my books.

He was in charge of the franchise after SOTN and Castlevania 64. He was responsible for Symphony of the Night and the GBA and DS titles. He was also behind some weak console entries, but he more than made up for it with the handheld games.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

*game informer gives it 6.25

The first LoS game was pretty good, albeit too long and having boring moments.

I'm in the middle of Mirror of Fate on the 360 and I'm pretty bored. It has enjoyable moments but its not great.

I'm going to play this latest Castlevania game, but I hope its the last of the LoS series. Its time to go back to what made the series great.

A shame. I liked the first LoS a lot, despite some drawbacks.

The Castlevania franchise  is a joke nowadays. You know, at least last generation we got good handheld games like Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin, but it looks like this generation even those are going to suck ( Just look at Lords of Shadow for the 3DS). Fuck Konami for destroying what used to be one of their most important franchises ever.

They should have just kept this as a separate series and not have it under Castlevania, given the feedback. But I respect the desire to try something different. #DmC

The first LOS had input from Kojima studios which probably helped it a bit...the new game doesn't as far as I know, nor did the 3ds game ( I think)... Maybe they should have.
It's a shame in one way as I was looking forward to this game, but then again I hope they make a more traditional castlevania in the future by a different developer. If this doesn't kill the franchise that is.

Shouldn't you be studying?
