Has anybody seen the robocop remake? Is it worth watching. I was thinking about seeing  this movie today. Any thoughts?

it's 12s.... there is no gritty shoot up by Red Foreman scene... did I mention it's 12s? If you liked the original just go rewatch that instead lol, it's up on netflix now and it's still glorious 18s :D old ED209s stop motion is a bit wank tho.

I own the orginal on blue-ray.

The remake will make you mad more than anything else really then, I don't know how to explain just how stupid some portions of it are, maybe the easiest way is just to describe how he ends up being a candidate for being made into Robocop is....

Really if you love the old you will hate the remake.

RoboCop 1987 was perfect as is. A remake was unnecessary. Go to the IMDB boards for RoboCop 2014 to see lonely nerds argue over it. I'll stick to the original and pass on the kid-safe version, thank you.

I agree,but I'll probably end up watching it today,for curiousity sake. The only thing outdated in the orginal was some of the special effects,but it's still a pretty dam good movie in my opinion. 

rewatching the original the ED209s like I said are jarring from the whole rest of the movie, everything else is top notch. Robocop 2's stop motion actually holds up surprisingly well for a movie that old.

Actually it is better than expected seeing how remakes are done lately. Check user reviews and it is better than expected. The only bad thing probably is that is a bit short and PG-13.

It's PG-13. That's all I have to say.

As far as remake history goes, the odds aren't in it's favor, however I was pleasantly surprised by the Judge Dredd remake...though, to be fair the original was only memorable because of the ridiculous overacting and horrific Versace designed outfits.

I'll give it a shot, but the original Robocop was pretty tight, I won't go see it in a theater though.
